If you're looking at a company that would look good on your resume, you
would pick any of the ones listed by Shreyas Sharma, but the issue is that
you'll be pitted against a lot of people holding similar credentials.

I'd like to think that the knowledge that you'd gain from working for suppliers
to the automotive and construction equipment sectors, from a purely
mechanical engineering experience standpoint, is unparalleled.

The overall onus is completely on you, if you're of the right caliber, from the
onset. The level of exposure you get when it comes to engineering projects,
dealing with finances, resource management, trouble shooting and customer
interactions isn't something you can attain all at once at a major OEM.

I've interacted with engineers working at ZF India, Eaton, Solidus (Bangalore)

RSB transmissions (Jamshedpur) to name a few. Their experiences talk for
themselves. After a few years stint in such a place, any large OEM will lap you
up without as much as batting an eyelid!

Good luck!

In my opinion, you will find working for a small, private company both more
fulfilling and more educational. Make a point of learning as much as you can
about the entire business and not just your specific engineering project. An
engineer with sale, business, and customer service abilities is pretty much
unstoppable.

workplace.

The few which are really the best in my opinion are (Indian or have strong
presence in India ):

1. GE JFW Tech Center - One of the best research labs in world and one out
four is located in India.

2. ISRO - One of the best govt organisations working in the field of science
and technology.

3. BARC - Bhabha atomic research centre, Dept of Atomic Energy, Nuclear

Energy is one sector which is most closely related to mechanical engineer . It
is also one the best govt dept working in science and tech sector. Chance to
work and to be one the best tech minds of the country is quiet high.

4.Tata Motors - The name is enough in itself.

5. Rolls Royce - One the best engineering companies in the world with a
upcoming technology centre in India.

6. Civil Services : Mech Guys often make one of the best managers. What
could be better than being in Civil Services in that case for a mech engineer.

7. Boeing Research and Technology Centre, India

8. United Technologies - Own Pratt and whitney, Sikorsky Helicopters, Otis

etc.

9.Emerson India

And there are many more...

Ansys, John Deere, Royal Enfield, M&M, Siemens, Robert Bosch, Royal Dutch
Shell. ABB, 3M, Fluor
