SECTION 1 − Objective
This Service Introduction Planner provides information regarding introduction HP Z440 computer into Revolution
ACT/Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) products. This document is intended to prepare the field with information regarding
configurations, features and spare parts introduced in the CT product.
This Service Introduction Planner is not a service manual or users guide. It is a collection of information taken from
several source documents that are available.

SECTION 2 – Introduction
Current Revolution ACT and Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) products use HP Z420 computer. The computer HP Z420 is
meeting its end of life. Hence Revolution ACT and Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) systems will be offered with HP Z440
computer. The existing IB of Revolution ACT and Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) products will continue to use HP Z420
computer. An upgrade option for the field involving replacing the in-field HP Z420 with HP Z440 computer is in scope
for Revolution ACT and Revolution ACTs (SVCT16). A separate communication for the same will be released once the
BCAT for the same would be ready for offering. Shipments of Revolution ACT and Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) systems
will continue with HP Z420 computer until FW37, 2017. Once Beijing manufacturing uses up the in-stock HP Z420
computers, SVCT16 systems will be shipped with HP Z440 computer. There is no change to any of the system level
BCAT numbers. There is no change to the rest of SVCT16 hardware. Please refer DOC1729151/DOC1972156 for the
details of the system hardware. This iSERV will list information that is related to HP Z440 computer. For rest of the
details, please refer DOC1729151 and DOC1972156.

SECTION 3 – HP Z440 Computer

Like HP Z420 computer, HP Z440 computer will be a standalone computer with chassis. There is no tower for this
computer. The computer will receive power from the console UPS. The console UPS receives its power directly from
PDU. HP Z440 computer will be connected to a single wide screen monitor. HP Z440 computer will use the existing
monitor, mouse, keyboard(s) and SCBSV. HP Z440 configuration is as follows:

The output of W2100 graphics card is DP. Hence a separate DP-DVI cable gets shipped along with HP Z440
computer. The monitor gets shipped with a DVI-DVI cable. The monitor gets connected to HP Z440 using these two
cables. For details, refer the training document DOC2023388.

SECTION 4− Customer and Service Feature Overview

The features incorporated in Revolution ACT/Revolution ACTs (SVCT16) have been carried forward. No new service
features have been added. Please refer DOC1729151 and DOC1972156 for details.

It is important to select the correct OS profile (GEHC-SV) for HP Z440 computer during Load from Cold. Incorrect
selection will lead to the error message which will prompt OS installation with correct OS profile (GEHC-SV).
