Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries that have flourished by catering to the
changing needs of travellers all across the world. A tourist place can be termed as a specific
place of interest where travellers visit due to its historical, cultural, or natural significance. It

individual takes inspiration and positive experience.

in relation to a few specific tourist places. The overlapping of visitor’s attractions and an
analysis of the prime tourist attractions will be reflected through this piece. The potentialities
of developing visitor’s attractions and strategies that one can look at while examining the

purpose for more than one day. There are different types of visitors that visit many places for
their needs. These visitors are classified as their needs and motivation, which are as follows:

Incentive tourists: Incentive tourists are those individual, whom company provides holiday
packages as a part of their incentives (Batabyal and Alao, 2015). These types of tourists do
not have any needs. However, free holiday and visiting new places motivates these types of
tourists.

Business tourists: Business tourists are those tourists, who are travelling for the business
related purposes. Their needs are to increase the profitability of the company and expand the
business. Conducting meeting with the foreign clients, getting new business contract
motivates the business tourists (Skinner, 2017). With the help of the business meeting, the
individual will be able to generate more revenue, which will help in satisfying their needs.

Health or medical tourists: Those tourists who travel for the medical treatment and which is
possible away from their home are known as the health or medical tourists. One of the main
needs of these types of tourists are advance medical facilities (Hanefeld et al., 2015). Lower
medical costs, specialized professionals can motivates these types of the tourists to places that
are away from their home.

Leisure tourists: Leisure tourists can be defined as those tourists, who want to revitalize and
rejuvenate with comforts and at the same time, enjoying their break from their daily routine.
One of their needs is to feel relax from the daily schedule and at the same time, to enjoy with
their family and friends. The main motivation factors for these types of tourists are easily
availability of the package in lower for the destination they have not visited yet.

Education tourists: Education tourists travel for the educational purpose and at the same
time, they travel to gain higher education. Their main needs to improve their educational
qualification. The motivational factors for this type of tourists are better educational facilities
and at the same time, getting education from qualified professionals (Filimonau and
Högström, 2017). With the help of this, education will be able to increase their education
qualification.

Adventure tourists: Those tourists who seek for bizarre and unusual experience are known as
adventure tourists. They are motivated by the experience by getting all the adventurous
activities such as Rock climbing, Snorkelling, wakeboarding and others. These type of
activities will help in satisfying their needs.

Religious tourists: Those tourist, who travel for the religious significance can be described as
the religious tourists (Raj and Griffin, 2015). There are many religious places in the world
such as Hajj in Mecca, Varanasi in India, Jerusalem in Israel and others. The motivation of
religious tourists is praying and singing hymns in those religious places.

Apart from this, British Museum, the Queen's House and the National Maritime Museum
attract large numbers of visitors from across the world for educational and leisure purpose.
These museums have many objects and articles of the ancient world, which can help students
in their educational purpose. With the help of these museums, the visitors can also gain
information to understand the history of the United Kingdom.
2.2 Evaluate impacts of tourism on visitor attractions in the United Kingdom

The impact of tourism on visistor’s attrcations can be classified into three primary sctions: the
environemntal impact, the socio and cultural impact, the Economic impact.

Environmental Impact

Due to exxecisve number of travllers the tourist destinations are getting more crowded and
issues relating to over crowding and pollution (Agarwal et al., 2017). The people are causing
threats to the ecosystem and polluting the surroundings that is hamepring the environemnt. It
must eb noted that the governemnt must initiate in adapting more eco friendly ways to
conduct the operations of the tourism industry in Britian. The natural reserve forest and
countryside mst be restored alongside wildlife and aquatic life.

Social Impact

The social impact is possibly the strongets impact of tourism on visistor’s attractions. The
progess in chanelling communicatin facilities has increased the anaul revenues of the country.
The people are trying to restote art and culture of Britain making it a better place radiating
educational and valuable prospects of social developments. The Queen’s House alosgide the
British Museum has invited a great number of tourists making it a popular attarction that
serves to people in enriching tehm socially and culturally.

Economical Impact

This is massive in term sof the digits that reflcet Britain ‘s annual revenues that come from

travellers during 2017 whcihreflects the high income from the tourists. it also provides a good
number of employement opportunities to people who are willing to work in the tourism
industry.
2.3 Analyze the effect of different theories of tourist motivation on the management of
visitor attractions.

The content further is going to discuss two primary theories of tourist motivation on the
management of visitor’s attraction.

Responsible Tourism is a theory developed by Harold Goodwin during the year of 2002 and
was introduced in the World Summit of Sustainable Development in Cape Town.
Responsible Theory focuses on making better places for people to sustain and making better
places for people to visits. It involves hoteliers, restaurateurs, and tour operators to make the
services better and cater to the needs of the people (Haroldgoodwin.info, 2018). The
administrating tem of the British Museum has initiated this theory in making the museum a
better and more educational place for travellers. The museum authority has taken steps to
increase the economic and social impact on the museum.

On the other hand, the smart visitors’ theory has paved the way of exhorting that can
eventually result in against the increasing reliance of tourist destinations. It must be noted
that illegal activities of a certain place can reduce the rate of tourists and reduce its
attractiveness (Baktash et al., 2017). Also, good atmosphere and educational ambience can
increase the number of tourist of that place. It has been observed that the National Maritime
Museum provides a great opportunity to look into ancient and historical artefacts of great
significance. These affect the flow of tourist in places of attraction and supply a great scope
of income for the local communities and the government.

3.1 Discuss the processes and the potential issues involved in the development of visitor
attractions.

Several processes and potential issues are involved in the overall development of visitor’s
attractions. It has been realised that the history of tourism in the United Kingdom has
provided an example or model on how exactly an industry might develop in a particular
country (Researchonline.jcu.edu.au, 2018). In this section, a thorough analysis of the
development of the theme parks of the United Kingdom has been drafted in relation to how
they are developed a major tourist destinations. One can easily identify with the Drayton
Manor and the Chasing world of advertisement and other major theme parks that attracts
tourist from both domestic and international crowd. Primarily there are seven specific stages
of tourist development that also helps in mitigating certain issues relating to the same
industry.

 Exploration- there are places that are not much visited by the travellers in the United
Kingdom. These places are unspoilt and a very few number of tourists facilities are
operating in these places (Veal, 2017). The first step, as exploration, will be to explore
some places that need development and understand their natural and cultural values. It
is the responsibilities for those theme park authorities to ensure that the same theme is
not repeated over t eh years that would bore the tourists and lessen their number.
Hence, the authorities must decide on the developments that are to be done.
 Involvement- in this section, as the second step, the local authorities of some places
must try to provide facilities and support to the tourists. It helps in developing a
recognised tourist season and an attractive destination. In terms of the theme parks,
the local authorities must initiate the native people to communicate with the
foreigners and try to communicate at various levels that would help in increasing their
involvement with the place (Hess and Kelman, 2017).
 Development- this is the third and one of the most important steps. It focuses on
developing the country in general and advertises the specific paces that are potential
in fetching audience from both international and domestic fields. After aggressive
promotions, people and starts receiving tourist know teh splace. The UK government
must initiate in promoting and advertising the new visitor’s attraction and
simultaneously buil a market for `the unexplored places.
 Consolidation- during this step a few issues can arise between the tourist and the host
country. It results in bringing some changes to the operations of the existing tour
industry. In order to receive the travellers the managing authority of the Museums and
the theme parks are trying to enhance the opportunities for tourists to feel more
comfortable in travelling and experiencing the visitor’s attractions. The authorities are
opening up various scopes and opportunities to create a larger crowd of audience that
would help them in receiving more profits. The museums and tourist authorities are
trying to recruit more employees and proper training is providing to them to make
them successful in giving suitable treatment to foreigners (Spenceley and Meyer,
2017).
 Stagnation- It is very important to identify with the changes that come in the market
and in the preferences of the people. The managing director of the museums and the
theme parks must be determined to keep up with the changes and introduce new
trendy themes in the parks to keep the flow of tourists constant and not let them get
bored. The facilities for the travellers can decline, as they get old and outdated
(McCamley and Gilmore, 2017).
 Rejuvenation- modernisation may take place that would eventually lead to
development and improvements in the number of visitors that will increase. To create
a loyal customer base the management of the museums and the theme parks must
initiate proper developmental strategies that will benefit the economy of the
organisation and help tourists to understand the values and importance of the visitor’s
attractions (Butzmann and Job, 2017). The management must look into the problems
and mitigate them helping the tourists to realise that the authority care for their
comfort and security.
 Decline- if resorts are not rejuvenated in the previous step then it will decline. People
will tend to lose their jobs in the tourism industry and it will deteriorate the reputation
an importance of a tourist destination. The organisation can experience a huge loss
and issues of unemployment may arrive.

It must be noted that London Borough of Newham and Merlin entertainment may face
serious issues in developing a proper theme park. Some of the problems are as follows.
 Finding a good location to build a theme park will be the first problem that the
management will face. Setting up a location is one of the primary steps that will cause
issues, as the location will decide the flow of tourists and how attractive the theme
park will be. Moreover, the authority must look for a catchment area. The other issues
may relate to land reclamation that will probably create an impact by increasing the
prices.
 The authority may also find it difficult to find the suitable and most profitable funding
opportunities. The organisation must look for the funding opportunities and choose
the one that would suit their purpose to the fullest.
 The third yet the most important issue that the organisations can find is in getting the
legal permission from the British Government in making the theme park. The
problem can arise at the very inception of the plan as not receiving the permission to
build the theme park will affect in all the steps of proceedings.
 If the local people do not provide support and help to the making of the theme park, it
will be highly difficult for the organisation to conduct their work in making the park.
Proper cooperation and support from the local members of the society is essential in
making a good team that will work together for a specific cause.
 It will be difficult for the organisation to cater to the needs of all the stakeholders.
This will result in creating serious issues and conflicts.
 To ensure that the right use of technology is utilised the management need to increase
their budget, which will create issues relating to prices.

To conclude, it can be assumed that the organisations will have to face issues and challenges
in meeting the basic requirements of constructing the theme park. The management of the
theme park will have to mitigate their issues and rightfully set their strategies in conducting
the entire team together to fulfil the operational goals in completing the construction.

4.1 Analyse different visitor management strategies

The tourism industry must look at the level of enthusiasm and interest of the travellers in
relation to the dictatorial factors. In London, the British Museum national trust, the nearest
restaurants and hotels, the landowners and fund providers are considered as important
stakeholders who support the industry to conduct the business without any conflicts.
Primarily two methods or strategies can be used to identify with the visitor management and
its importance.

The first strategy is the Soft Measures. It has to be noted that these measures are not imposed
on the visitors (Li et al., 2017). Rather, the visitors are provided with good advice and
suggestions from the managers of Visit Britain. The soft measures are utilised to calculate
and measure the balance between the visitor’s requirements and the efforts given by the
company.

On the other hand, one can easily look up to the Hard Measures (Page et al., 2017). The
hard measures are utilised to secure the properties and valuables of the British Museum. It
has been observed that the British museum being such a large premises allows thousands of
visitors to enter the museum and view the artefacts on a daily basis. It has been observed that
the British Museum has appointed a waste management team that will help in removing the
waste materials from the museum’s premises and help in keeping the surrounding clean and
hygienic. It has been observed that eh management team has restricted the allowance of loud
noises and kept a suitable place for parking and social gathering.
4.2 Evaluate management techniques in relation to sustainability.

Sustainable management accepts the concept from sustainability and synthesizes them with
the core concept of management (Dickinson et al., 2017). It must be noted that sustainability
has three branches: the economy, the environment, and the requirements of current and future
generation. Utilising these branches will help in creating the ability of any system to thrive by
maintaining economic viability and enrich the requirements of the current and future
generations. The primary strategy to improve sustainable tourism is to analyse both the
internal and external features and influences like political, social, economical, environmental,
the relationship with stakeholders etc.

The possible strategies to attain sustainable form of tourism are as follows.

 Restricting the number of vehicles and visitors is the first strategy. To create a balance
between the travellers and the tourist place has to be implemented (Cheng et al.,
2017).
 Fundraising must be conducted to repair the damages caused in the natural
environment and other places.
 Educating and allowing the tourists to learn about the visitor’s attractions will
enhance sustainability of tourism.
 Promoting eco friendly and more natural and organic processes to design the
operations of tourism industry will enhance the sustainability of the industry. it will
benefit the industry as well as the travellers in maintaining (Boley et al., 2017).

One must realise that to create a sustainable form of tourism the local people, the
environment and the economy has to be balanced properly (Carneiro et al., 2018). It is
something that required everyone’s participation and joint collaborations and will not happen
overnight.

This paper has reflected various sides of tourism industry with special reference to the
visitor’s attraction management system. The paper specifically focussed on the visitor’s
attraction of Britain and analysed the various destinations that are attracts tourists from all
parts of the world. The paper has been enriching and enlightening much in presenting clear
definitions of visitor’s attractions and the ways through which it can be developed further.
The paper has presented concepts and models that help in making the visitor’s attractions of
London and Britain in general to develop further.

Through this study, it has been observed that the United Kingdom received a great amount of
annual revenues from the tourists and the government has introduced several strategies and
laws to restore the tourism industry with proper maintenance and opportunities to earning
revenuers. The paper commingles with ideas and concepts relating to tourist attractions and
helps in understanding eh various methods through which the said industry develops.
