Vocal media has become a popular method of communication in today's social networks.
While conveying semantic information, vocal messages usually also contain abundant emotional
information. This paper proposes a computational method for emotion recognition and affective
computing on vocal social media.
In the continuing innovation of modern technology, vocal media is a big help on people
who uses social media a lot or gives most of their time on using social media applications
through modern technology, since it would help them on expressing themselves more that would
show the true expression of their faces that other people would sometimes relate to.

political opinions in the web. Government Information Quarterly. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.giq.2012.06.005
Affordable and ubiquitous online communications (social media) provide the means for flows of ideas and opinions
and play an increasing role for the transformation and cohesion of society, yet little is understood about how online opinions
emerge, diffuse, and gain momentum.
Using social media is an easier way to disseminate information depending on the credibility of your source. People
giving their own thoughts and opinion based on their emotion without having credible sources sometimes leads to misinformation
and might influence people in terms of their emotions and beliefs.

Behavior. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chb.2018.02.022
Although social media offer adolescents new possibilities for emotion regulation, little is known about how adolescents use different platforms to this
end. This study adds to the emotion regulation literature and affordances-of-technologies perspective by describing whether and how adolescents use different social
media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube, 9Gag, and blogs) for emotion sharing and how technical, social, and contextual factors
influence these practices.
There may be different reasons why most people use the said social media platforms all the time, but one of the reasons would be about on expressing
their emotions through it. The study aims to know more reason beyond every social media user in their daily lives.
Emotion Expression on Social Networking Sites: A study of Young Persons’ Use of facebook
and Twitter in the UK
July 24, 2018
The healthy dosage of emotion expression through the proper channel is important for
well-being. With the growing use of social networking sites (SNS), many may choose to express
emotions online. Participants also reported little benefit to express negative emotions on SNS in
comparison to speaking to friends or family members. Pattern of emotion expression offline and
the availability of support in real world do not influence one’s usage of SNS on emotion
disclosure.
There are different social networking sites of today since the number of SNS users are
continuously growing. These SNSs plays different roles in terms of self-expression and it is up to
the user on what way or how they are going to use the social networking sites. In this study, it
tells that there is no influence on how a person uses SNS on emotion disclosure on the
availability of that user has in the real world.

Social media can be a platform for self-expression, or it can ruin people’s self-worth
Riley Wilson and Michael Pearce December 21, 2015
Social media gives people value. Research shows that social media improves quality of life. It is so easy to get lost in a
big world, especially as a teenager. With the use of social media, teenagers have an outlet to express themselves, which is
important because expression is key during the teenage years.
Teenagers being open to what they feel every time on social media is still somehow improves the quality of their life
since it is their most used outlet on expressing themselves since they don’t tend to share it to the people around them because
they are shy to the people they are with and this helps them in a way that they will not feel alone.
