2. Usually only brief meeting is allowed in between his busy schedule. So after presenting the
ideas of incorporating music education, he seems either skeptical of the purpose behind, or being
pretending that he is feeling the same way. Overall he permitted the changes without putting
extra resources into it. So it becomes students responsibility to carry out the mission. At the same
time a new building is completed for school's use, that the school was relocating the new
building and needs help arranging the spaces, that it is possible to find decent space for
rehearsals, meetings, and different activities.
3. In the short term it is a relief that the action is not going to encounter setbacks from the
principal. In the other hand I feel sad about not being able to share the same passion as much for
it is the school under his guidance. He might consider just another student activity to counteract
the turbulent curriculum reform. We carried out music groups, allocated times for practices, and
have a presentation for the achievements, as well as co-hosting activities with other departments.
It has directed students energy away from abrupt revolutionary reform but into other ways to
express themselves and to achieve life goal in other aspects. It is however not reviewed as
helping any concurrent curriculum or be accommodated in any way. No body gets credit for that.
In the long run, however, the school has transformed into a multi-cultural institution with music
departments and gallery-like exhibitions. Recent performances has raised eyebrows of the
industry with international fame when they hired a classmate of mine in elementary school
years.
