Overview

This research will expose the students on how to work in team, get and compile the resources, use the available sources
and able to transform the data into an organized report using Microsoft Office Application.

This assignment requires students to create a creative and effect report and presentation of the topic given, within a
group. The report must include tables or chart from Microsoft Excel, images and clip arts, to enhance the contents to
attract interest from readers.

This project will carry 20% of your total marks for this module; 15% based of the report and 5% for the presentation

Objective

Empire Hotel is located Jerudong. It has 7 different types of accommodations and 7 different types of dining. Since it
opened on 16 October 2000, The Empire has become synonymous with Brunei: reflecting the country's majestic and
cultural heritage. You are to conduct a research:
 Suggest at least two new computers with its specification which includes the processor speed, storage size and
etc. (Each computer MUST HAVE different intended users)
 The new computers also need to have an operating system (OS). Give your suggestion on which OS need to be
installed in the new computers also need to be installed in the new computers. Example: Windows 7, Windows
XP or etc
 Application software also needs to be installed in this new computer. What software needs to be installed? And
why?
 Explain why you choose the hardware and software that you mentioned for each computer.

Consequently, you are required to prepare a report and based on your observation and collected data present your own
investigation and analysis on why they are of your selected choice

Specifications
Group assignment consists of 3 students and it is expected that student submits hardcopy and presents work by due date.
Use your creativity to add some additional features in order to reach the maximum level of current technology
development:

(a) You should present the overview of Empire Hotel in general which includes respective pictures,
photographs, graphs, pictures, or tables to express and support your observation.

(b) You should include a brief introduction and conclusion of the report based on your point of view.

(c) You should analyze and discuss your selected specification based on the technical requirement
and cost factor.

Software requirement: Microsoft ® Office (COMPULSORY) and any application software (if applicable).
Format of report

Font types: Arial/New Times Roman

Font size: 12 with 1 ½ spacing and justified.

Marking Criteria

The group project will be given marks based on the following scheme:

Submission Information

Students are supposed to meet the submission deadline. Late submissions will be subject to mark deduction.

You must submit the work with an assignment cover page binded together as submission.

Student must give proper credit to the image/photo/pictures that are used on the report and power point slides to avoid
being caught for stealing copyrighted artworks of other people without their consents.

All assignment must be typed and printed out. Hand written assignments are NOT acceptable.

Complete Assignment Submission:

Soft copy (CD), Hard copy (in A4 paper size attached with LUCT cover page printed)

ATTENTION: Plagiarism and cheating are NOT allowed. If student is caught plagiarizing or cheating in the assignment,
No mark will be given to this assignment for that student. No negotiations will be entertained.
