accomplished without additional cost to the owner and without approval provided that
the cross-sectional area of the duct remains equal to that indicated on the plans.

All the ducts shall be fabricated of steel galvanized sheet (by hot immersion) unless it
is specified another particular material.

The fabrication shall assure a flat interior duct surface. They will be modified at the
work site, considering the obstructions.

When it is absolutely necessary for pipelines or other type of obstructions to

penetrate the interior of the duct, they shall not take more than ten percent (10%) of
the cross-sectional area of the duct and will have to be provided with aerodynamic
plate diverters for smooth flow of air around the obstruction.

Approval of the shop drawings shall not be required for the fabrication of the
ductwork. Except in those cases where the seller deviates from the project drawing
layout. In this case the seller will have to submit, for the approval of the buyer’s
inspector, duplicate copies of the project drawing layout and a detailed drawing of the
proposed modification with a written report indicating the need for such modification.

When it is required alterations of dimensions and/or travel of the ducts, these shall to
be delivered for the inspector's approval before their installation. All change in the
dimensions will be based on the method of “equal friction.”

All directional change, both horizontally and vertically, shall be accomplished in such
a form as to permit the best possible aerodynamic flow, utilizing long radius curved
elbows or short radius elbows with turning vanes. In those cases where it will be

never greater than 25%.

The joints and the longitudinal seams of the ducts shall employ “Pittsburgh Lock
Seam” and “Inside Groove Seam” respectively.

The joints shall be built in a manner such that the interior projection points shall be in
the direction of the airflow. It will have to accomplished diagonal bending in all the air
ducts, whose faces are larger than 20 cm. Including the elbows and the transitions. It
will not be required to perform this type of bending in those ducts that need acoustic
