S0102P is a N/O 2 bar pressure switch and is installed in the pilot (control) pressure
filter head to monitor filter contamination levels. Should filter contamination cause the
pressure switch to close a signal is issued to I/O 3 and via ESX / CAN link sent to the
S0102P Filter hydraulic oil ECOS display, which issues a warning. 3 X6/4
S0106/1 Handgas speed increase 8.5V command signal from switch S0106 (speed increase) to ESX. 2 6

S0209P is a N/O 1.2 bar pressure switch and is installed in the return line filter head
(R1) to monitor filter contamination levels. Should filter contamination cause the
pressure switch to close a signal is issued to I/O 1 and via ESX 3, ESX2 sent to the
S0209P Filter backpressure 1 ECOS display, which issues a warning. 1 X7/1
The tank level input is supplied with 8.5 V through an upstream 390 Ohm resistor with
the tank sensor being connected between the resistor and the input to vary the signal
depending on the fuel level.
Note: The input only has an active role when superstructure operation is selected. This
is due to the fuel level sensor reverting (via relay switching) to a conventional gauge
S0209Q Diesel tank level ground reference for carrier operation. 3 41
S0210P is a N/O 1.2 bar pressure switch and is installed in the return line filter head
(R2) to monitor filter contamination levels. Should filter contamination cause the
pressure switch to close a signal is issued to I/O 1 and via ESX 3, ESX2 sent to the
S0210P Filter backpressure 2 ECOS display which issues a warning. 1 X7/3
The temperature sensor is supplied with 8.5 V through an upstream 390 Ohm resistor
with the temperature sensor being connected between the resistor and the input to vary
the signal depending on the oil temperature.
Note: The input only has an active role when superstructure operation is selected. This
S0240T Hydraulic oil temperature is due to the hydraulic oil temperature having no carrier application. 3 6

Y1101 Lowering This proportional valve is connected to OUT1100 when K1101 is activated.
Y1102 Raising This proportional valve is connected to OUT1100 when K1102 is activated.
This 3/2 valve releases the brake/motor control valve for 'lowering' (flow of current =>
brake/motor control valve released). When energised by ECOS, it switches pump flow
(P1) to release the spring applied hoist brake and then takes over the release of the
motor control valve. The hoist holding brake is initially released by solenoid Y1105 via
Y1104 Lowering brake pilot pressure as it is energised in conjunction with Y1104. 0 62
This 3/2 valve releases the brake for 'raising/lowering' (flow of current => brake
released). When energised by ECOS (ESX 0), it switches pilot (control) pressure to
release the spring applied hoist holding brake. The pilot (control) pressure will be
replaced by main pressure (P1) when it rises above the pilot (control) pressure. It is

brake/motor control valve released). When energised by ECOS, it switches pump flow
(P1) to release the spring applied hoist brake and then takes over the release of the
motor control valve. The hoist holding brake is initially released by solenoid Y1205 via
Y1204 Lowering brake pilot pressure as it is energised in conjunction with Y1204. 0 24
This 3/2 valve releases the brake for 'raising/lowering' (flow of current => brake

This 2/2 (leak free) valve, when energised by ECOS , blocks the return path to the

Lamp H4104 is illuminated to indicate full engagement of the differential cross locks. If

Lamp H4106 is illuminated to indicate engagement of the axle blocking system. Control
H4106 Axle blocking is via a 5 bar pressure switch (S4106P) input to carrier ESX. 0 X3/7
Signal is set by ZF electronic, if the actual speed is below the limit of 3 mph (5km/h).
The signal is used as a control function for the engagement of differential locks, all-
IN4101 Speed signal < 3 mph wheel steering and suspension levelling. 3 19
The N/C switch (S4101M) is held open by the differential lock actuating piston in the
disengaged position. Subsequently, when the differential lock is engaged the actuating

The 5 bar pressure switch (S4106P) is a N/C switch upto the 5 bar threshold. With an air
release pressure of less than 5 bar a signal is given to ESX 3 to indicate 'axle blocking

The service brake pedal provides electronic control of the service brakes via an
integrated footpedal potentiometer. The potentiometer is supplied with 8.5 V from ESX 2
(VCC 8.5 V) with the signal (command value) being routed back to ESX 2. This signal
value is then transmitted via CAN bus to the carrier electronic module (ESX 3) which
then provides a control current to two proportional brake solenoid valves (Y4123 &
IN4201 Superstructure service brake Y4124). 2 31
The superstructure switch input signal (24 V) to ESX 2 energises solenoid Y4104 via
S4204 Select differential cross locks (Super) Carrier ESX 3 to engage the differential cross locks. 2 14

Carrier Suspension Drive Group (43)

Lamp H4303 illuminates to indicate that the vehicle is not at a correct highway ride
height position. The lamp circuit is activated via switch S4308 (Rocker switch for
H4303 Automatic highway levelling highway levelling). 0 X3/3
When the keyswitch (S4103) is selected (contacts closed) and when the axle blocking is
released via S4103 (confirmed by pressure switch S4106P) then OUT4301 is active.
This output provides a power supply to the control switches and respective switch
OUT4301 Release switch power supply warning lamps. 0 X3/6
The key switch input activates the suspension control module, subject to the axle
blocking being released. Additionally, it is the central release for: transmission upshift
S4301 Key switch lock (20 kph), all-wheel steering, additional drive, differential long locks and differential 0 X6/5
The N/C proximity switch function, required as an integral part of the automatic highway
levelling feature is installed in the first axle line (left) suspension strut (lower switch) and
detects the inner support tube as a height reference to hold the switch open. Should the
switch travel above its height reference it will fall closed and provide a signal to I/0
board 1, which will subsequently cause the suspension group to lower until the switch is
opened by its height reference against the support tube.

Note: The proximity switch circuits are only live when activating the automatic highway
S4301N Front left suspension group, too high levelling function. 1 X6/1
The rocker switch is controlled by the operator to provide a command for raise or lower
function, subject to selection (raise/lower) via rocker switch S4307. Subsequently, via I/0
boards 1 & 2, solenoids Y4302 & Y4306 will be energised in conjunction with Y4709
(pump command) via carrier ESX for the raise function. Should the lower function be
selected, solenoids Y4302 & Y4306 will be energised without the need for Y4709 as the
S4302 Crane right side raise/lower crane will lower by gravity. 8.5V power supply. 0 X4/3
The N/O proximity switch function, required as an integral part of the automatic highway
levelling feature is installed in the first axle line (left) suspension strut (upper switch) and
detects the inner support tube as a height reference to hold the switch closed. Should
the switch travel below its height reference it will close and provide a signal to I/0 board
1, which will subsequently cause the suspension group to raise until the switch falls
open due to losing its height reference against the support tube.

Note: The proximity switch circuits are only live when activating the automatic highway
S4302N Front left suspension group, too low levelling function. 1 X6/3

levelling feature is installed in the third axle line (right) suspension strut (lower switch)
and detects the inner support tube as a height reference to hold the switch open. Should
the switch travel above its height reference it will fall closed and provide a signal to I/0
board 2, which will subsequently cause the suspension group to lower until the switch is
opened by its height reference against the support tube.

Note: The proximity switch circuits are only live when activating the automatic highway
S4307N Rear right suspension group, too high levelling function. 2 X6/5
The momentary self-return switch must be depressed to activate the automatic levelling
function, subject to key switch S4301 being engaged & axle blocking being released to
enable OUT4301, which is used to power the switch input. Subject to the switched signal
(pins 1 through 3) to I/O board 0 (X6/8), If levelling is required the lamp H4303 will
illuminate and the necessary functions will activate until the crane is level. Once the
correct level is attained the lamp will go out and all automatic suspension levelling
S4308 Automatic highway levelling functions will cease. 8.5V power supply. 0 X4/8
The N/O proximity switch function, required as an integral part of the automatic highway
levelling feature is installed in the third axle line (right) suspension strut (upper switch)

Carrier Outrigger Drive Group (44)

The pressure sensor is installed in the front left stabilizer cylinder to monitor the
imposed hydraulic pressure to allow conversion to outrigger load values. This can be
