shawls for parishioners, their
families and friends who are
coping with illness, loneliness,

Learning to sing sacred music is an opportunity for
growth as you expand your understanding of God and
the experience of worship. Singing is also a way to
relax and relieve stress from our every day pressures in
life. Our choir is looking for people to contribute their
talents to help make our Masses and gatherings just that
much more special. Join us! (or at least talk to us…
nothing is lost by simply asking). Come out to any choir
practice on Wednesday’s at 7:00 p.m. or speak to any
choir member. Members needed for all three Masses.

In Galilee of the nations, the people have seen a great

I appeal to you that all of you be in agreement and that
there be no divisions among you. (1 Corinthians)
Jesus made his home in Capernaum so that what had
been spoken through the Prophet Isaiah might be
fulfilled. (Matthew 4)
Like Peter, James and John,
we are asked by Jesus to take
on the work of discipleship; we
are asked to leave our “fishing
nets” – our own needs and
wants – to follow the example
of love and servanthood given
to us by Jesus; we are asked to
rebuild our lives, homes and
cities in the justice and peace
that Jesus proclaims.
Jesus calls his disciples of every time and place to be
“fishers” of men and women, to use whatever “nets” we
possess, in whatever oceans and seas we find ourselves,
to catch the falling, rescue the endangered, gather in the
lost and forgotten.
Christ is the light that illuminates our minds and souls
with a new vision of the human condition: in the light
of Christ, we are able to recognize one another as
brothers and sisters, children of the same God; in the
light of Christ, we realize our own need for healing and
forgiveness and are then able to bring such
transformation into our lives and the lives of others.

pierogi orders this weekend
and Feb. 1/2 for the next
pierogi batch. Blue order

basket or bring to the office by February 5th. Pick
up will be February 21st between 2-4 p.m. and 6:00 -
8:00 p.m. at the bar counter in the hall. If you are
interested in helping with the pierogi assembly, please

CHOOSE LIFE RETREAT
St. Catharines Right to Life is holding a weekend of fun
and pro-life education for high school students at Circle
Ranch, Fri. night, Feb. 7th, and all day Sat., Feb. 8th.
Activities include horseback riding, archery, a
screening of “Unplanned”, learning to defend the pro-
life view and more. Cost: $50 includes transportation,
accommodation and meals. Space is limited. Register

PREAUTHORIZED DEBIT (PAD) is offered for our
Mortgage Debt Reduction. If you are interested in
using this convenient way to make your offerings to the
church, please complete the card found in the pews and
return it to the parish office either directly or through
the collection basket. These donations are processed
once a month, on or about the 15th of each month.
THURSDAY BINGO HELP NEEDED
FOR SETUP AND TAKE DOWN
This entails setting up tables and chairs before and after
Bingo. It would take about 20 minutes. If you can
handle that and can make even one setup (before or
after), it would be helpful. Please let the office know if
you can assist with this.
CATHEDRAL APPEAL UPDATE
We are now at the midpoint of our 18-month Cathedral
Appeal. As of January 15, 2020 our appeal has raised
$777,399.49 in cash donations and $97,068.72 in
outstanding pledges. This brings our total raised to
$874,468.21 or 73% of our $1,200,000 goal. THANK
YOU FOR THE GENEROSITY OF SO MANY who
are playing a part in the restoration of the mother
