Discussion:
Law is a system of rules that are created and enforced through social or governmental
institutions to regulate behavior. It has been defined both as "the Science of Justice" and
"the Art of Justice".
Law is a system that regulates and ensures that individuals or a community adhere to the will of
the state.
Human Rights
Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity,
language, religion, or any other status. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from
slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many
more. Everyone is entitled to these rights, without discrimination.
Sad to say, in terms of exercising human rights, there are cases when only people who are privileged
are able to exercise it. Those who came from poor ones or don not have voices just stay quiet.
BESPREN INTEGRATION:
These are the reasons why the City of Santiago with the leadership of Hon. Mayor Joseph S. Tan
started the BESPREN sa BATAS PROGRAM. This program provides free legal aid services to the
residents of Santiago City that needs legal assistance.
These are the services provided free by the city. Because of this program, every resident of
Santiago City is able to exercise human rights.
Violation of Human Rights lead to Abuse. Abuse can be Physical, Emotional or both.
