I. Introduction
Let's try to observe the following
equations:
8k - 3 = 12
9r2 - 25 = 0
9 - 4x = 15
4m2 + 4m + 1 = 0
c = 12n - 5
6p - q = 10
t2 - 7t = 0
r2 = 144
II. Interaction
A quadratic equation in one
variable is a mathematical
sentence of degree 2 that can be
written in the standard form:
ax2 + bx + c = 0,
Example:
4x2 - 2x + 3 = 0
3x2 + x - 5 = 0
III. Integration
IV. Evaluation
Write each quadratic equation in
standard form, ax2 + bx + c = 0,
then identify the values of a, b,
and c. Answer in your notebook.
1. 3x - 2x2 = 7
2. 5 - 2x2 = 6x
3. 14x2 = 7
Finish the seatwork 5 minutes Students answered the activity.
