Scholar: A Deserving Person with Endless Qualities

Kianna Louise S. Navarrosa

Scholars are believed to be the future of the motherland and hold the utmost integrity

amongst the youth– which leads to the idea that becoming a scholar is a privilege. I am Kianna

Louise S. Navarrosa, an incoming Grade 12 student from Mapúa University and an aspiring

applicant for the AMHSAI Scholarship Program. I finished Grade 11 in Mapúa University with

honors and below are the reasons why I am deserving of this scholarship grant:

To begin with, this grant because will serve as my stepping stone towards more

opportunities in my succeeding years as a student. This will teach me the ropes on how it feels like

and how to manage myself as a scholar– experience will be my best teacher, indeed. Furthermore,

one of my main options for undergraduate studies (aside from Mapúa University), Ateneo de

Manila University (ADMU), requires an autobiographical essay upon submitting an application

form to the admissions office of the university. Having this grant would increase my probability

of being accepted, seeing to it that this will give the implication that the qualifications of becoming

a scholar have been met.

Additionally, I have what it takes to be named as a scholar and the attitude of a scholar.

Academic-wise, my first four years of secondary education in Muntinlupa Science High finished

with flying colors and I received “With Honors” awards from Grades 9-10, together with a “Best

in English Journalism” award for clinching the 4th spot out of 160 contestants during the 2017

DepEd–NCR Regional Schools Press Conference under the category of Science & Technology

Writing. Lastly, my year as an eleventh grader in Mapúa University ended with flying colors too;

I am enlisted as one of the students who are “With Honors” for the School Year-end Awards.

Leadership-wise, my former positions as an Editor-in-Chief and Vice President of Saliksik Science

Club prove that my skills in leadership have been sharpened. In addition, I was a member of Mapúa

Senior High School’s English Club and landed a spot as a Managing Editor for our then-upcoming

publication, The Blueprint.

The passion to achieve and maintain this scholarship has been engraved in both my mind

and heart. With enough dedication, determination, optimism, and perseverance, I have made it

through my first year in Mapúa while keeping a good academic stance and living 3 hours away

from the campus. My struggles, as well as the pressure placed upon me, will always be used as my

motivation. I strongly held on to the thought that in every passing day, I am closer to my dreams.

I am applying for this scholarship not only because of the dire need of it. I highly believe

that this scholarship will shape me into a much more well-rounded student and human being. I am

fully hoping for your kind consideration because this scholarship grant would uplift me, making

me lightyears closer to becoming a chemist, engineer, and a woman of science.
