ICT Resources

The following ICT resources are used as teaching tools in the series lessons to enhance and expand
learning.

Popplet Lite is an app that helps to organise and consolidate ideas, similar to that of a mind map.
Additionally, pictures can be added to Popplet Lite to enhance the the ideas. This tool allows students
to focus more on the ideas and concepts rather than worrying about the aesthetic side of things. The
positions of Popple (what individual boxes are referred to in the app) can also be easily manipulated if
students wish to change the format of their mind map. This argumentation helps to improve the task
of organising ideas for students and works as a simple task that can be used in the sequential lessons
for students to record what they have learn so they can look back and revise it easily.

Explain Everything is an app that enables students to express themselves easily and creatively. It’s
simple yet effective functions allows students to easily add images, sounds, and other files and make
annotations or drawings. This learning tool is one that helps to transform learning, referred to as
redefinition in the SAMR model. Explain Everything is an ICT tools that helps students to explore and
interact with their learning more intentionally, giving them learner control where they can create new
meanings to their learning.

ChibiStudio is a simple and innovative app that allows one to create an avatar. This app is used in the
series of lessons which allows students explore creating a portraiture of themselves. This is not the
conventional medium that is used in most art lessons. However, this app helps to modify the task
allowing students to express themselves creatively in a different way and can act as a starting point
for future projects. It is an easy to navigate tool that allows learner control and promotes imagination
and creativity. Lastly it adds a fun side for the students to express themselves!

iMovie is an app that allows one to easily create videos by adding sound effects and images. With this
app students can easily create and edit videos on their own. They can freely express their ideas and
make short films by themselves. By using this app in the lesson, the possibilities in the lessons is
transformed and students are able to explore and direct their learning and expression freely.
According to the SAMR model, iMovie helps to refine the task and enhance the curriculum.

Kahoot is a learning tool that can be used to help create a quiz that is tailored to the lesson and used
by teachers to host the quiz live on the screen where students can all collectively view it. In these
sequential lessons is used to create a quiz specifically aligned to the the WA/SCASA curriculum and
lessson topic to help students recall and revise the learning points from the previous lessons. In
addition, this learning tool can help the teacher to ascertain what students understand from the
lessons and determine what areas they might need more revision on. In relation to the SAMR model,
Kahoot acts an augmentation, where it acts as a direct substitute of a written quiz but with its
functions of live screening and other features it acts as a substantial improvement.

QRStuff is a unique QR code generator that can allow students to easily access information for the
lessons. This ICT tool is a effective tool that helps to save time so students can be more focus on their
task at hand than to worry about struggling to get to the information they need. This learning tool
acts as a modification according to the SAMR model, where it helps to redesign the task at hand.

Padlet is provides a digital page that allows different parties to share and view files simultaneously. In
these series of lessons, Padlet is used to gather the learning points for previous lessons so the teacher
and students can easily view the information together. In this way, the teacher can carry out a recap
of the lesson while engaging the students to actively participate in the revision. Padlet promotes the
cooperative factor of learning which is one of the key attributes in constructivism. Through the use of
this learning tool students are able to collaborate to facilitate more productive learning.
