***50% marks in graduation or post-graduation degree shall not apply for persons appointed as teachers
prior to the commencement of the National Council for Teacher Education (Regulations, Norms and
Procedure) second Amendment Regulation 2010.
Only those teachers who are teaching in class IX, X, XI and XII are eligible under Deputed category.
In order to be considered under the deputed category the teachers from Secondary/ Higher Secondary
schools affiliated to W.B.B.S.E./ W.B.C.H.S.E. must produce a copy of the appointment letter from the
District Inspector of Schools and a No Objection Certificate from the Managing Committee of the school
duly countersigned by the District Inspector of Schools (The Managing Committee must clearly certify
whether or not the teacher teaches in class IX, X, XI and XII), at the time of interview and admission.
Jadavpur University will not take the responsibility of disbursement of deputation allowance.

All applicants must have completed results at Bachelors (Honours) level and also passed in all papers.
#Current students who have appeared in M.A/M.Sc 4th semester (second year second semester)
examination 2019 securing at least 40% marks in each course and at least 50% (40% for SC/ST and 45% for
PD) marks in the aggregate of all marks obtained in 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester examinations are also
eligible. For such candidates the percentage of marks (in case of grade, the mid value of the
corresponding range should be inputed for marks) obtained in the aggregate of 1st, 2nd and 3rd
semesters examinations will be considered for preparing the merit list. Therefore, they should input the
total marks of three(3) semester examinations of M.A/M.Sc course. At the time of counseling/ admission
those students (if provisionally selected) must submit a proof of completion of M.A/ M.Sc Final Examination,
2019 authenticated by the appropriate authority of his/her college/ institute/ university in prescribed format
(click here). They will be required to submit their marksheet positively by September 30, 2019.
Their provisional admission shall be automatically cancelled if they are not declared to have passed
securing at least the minimum percentage of marks as mentioned above in the aggregate of all marks
obtained in 1st, 2nd and 3rd semester examinations after the publication of the results of the fourth semester
examination. Their provisional admission will be cancelled even if they are declared eligible for Special
Supplementary Examination 2019 or any such Examinations as per the Examination Rules of the University
concerned.
If a student’s marks in any particular examination at any level increases after review of
his/her result for that examination by the concerned Institute/ University
after the last date of submission of online application (18/7/2019), such additional marks shall
not be considered hereafter and at the time of counselling/admission.

The available method subjects are Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Mathematics, Physical Science
and Education.

For PD category:

 Persons with 40% or more disability will only be considered for admission under PD category
under RPD Act, 2016.

 Candidates applied under this category must submit an attested photocopy of certificate
of disability issued by the relevant authority either in person (or by post) along with a
photocopy of online payment receipt within July 19, 2019 (5pm) in the Office of the Dean
and Secretary, Faculty Council of Arts, Ground Floor, UG Arts Building, Jadavpur
University, Kolkata 700032.

 Applicants under PD category will have to appear before an expert committee to be con-
stituted by the University.

For SC/ ST category:


As per circular Nos. BC-16014/1/82-SC dt.06/08/1984 & BCD-1, D.O.12017/11/89-SCD(R.CELL)
dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510-SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West Bengal, Scheduled Castes/
Scheduled Tribes of the States other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the benefit of reserved quota in
Educational Institutions in West Bengal. Such students may get the benefit of reserve quota if they have domicile
certificate of 10 years residency in West Bengal.

Anti- Ragging:

Jadavpur University has accepted in principle that each and every student of the University shall be duty
bound during the entire period of studentship with the University to immediately report to the Dean of
Students if any ragging is noticed either in University hostel or on University campus.
If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the Authority, the concerned student shall be given
liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the Authority would expel him/her from
the University.
