 BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY

In the heart of Davao City lies the 26-hectare inland resort and
adventure park, D’ Leonor Hotel Inland Resort. This fun-filled
place is located at Purok 5, Barangay Communal, Cabantian,
Davao City. It only takes 20-minute ride from downtown and
about 15-minute ride from the Davao International Airport in
Sasa. This place is regarded as the biggest inland resort and one
of the newest attractions to the long-list adventure parks in
metro Davao.

There are numerous things to do that will suffice your adrenaline

cravings, they offer exciting amnesties such as their famous
Wave pool, the pride of the resort where you can dip and plunge
to your heart’s desires. It has about seven feet deep and can
accommodate 300 persons in all levels. You must also try their
Raging River section that you will surely enjoy the wrath of
waves. To hype your excitement, they have Jacuzzi and gigantic
pool slides. The resort’s water park is incredibly an impeccable
choice for smearing the infuriating heat of the sun. You can have
a race on their 600 steps stair or partying at their clubhouse. You
can also experience their fish ponds, carnival, wishing well, mini
zoo, or have a family picnic with the stunning view of Mount
Apo.

 ORIENTATION AND TOUR

DAY 1
On the first day,we Teofilo V. Fernandez National High School with Dr.
Santiago Dakudao Sr. National High School are oriented about the rules and
regulation inside and as I tell you, D’Leonor Inland Resort is very strict when
it comes to rules. After the orientation, we took a tour or overview of the
D’Leonor Inland Resort. As we are being toured, we see a different
department, structure and met the other staff that base on our observation
they are all good. After the tour we took a rest because our legs hurt because
we aren’t given a time to take a sit even for awhile.

I thought working in your chosen field would be a lot more easier because
you already have a background on what you are going to do but everything
that my mind expects is all wrong. I expect that I will assigned in F&B but
Ma’am Yedda assigned as in chalet 4 which is we will be a housekeeper. But
its ok I’m a Housekeeping NCII Holder. Working in the real field is like being
an ignorant child, you have to adjust on the surrounding, the people around
you and everything. Mix emotion. I’m a bit nervous and exited for what will
going to happen in my first day of work immersion. I am new to everything
even if I passed the Housekeeping assessment but I don’t think I would be an
effective housekeeper because for me I’m not yet ready because I expect that I
will be assigned in F&B. Ma’am Yedda let us decide to choose our partners
to clean each assigned task and I choose Wilsie Empredo to be my partner to
the whole duration of our work immersion

 RETOUCH THE ROOM

DAY 2

My second day of work immersion is so tiring. Me is with ate Aires the RA of

chalet 4 and Wilsie with ate Jennifer the RA of Chalet 3 which is chalet 3 lane
A are connected. I didn’t expect that we well be cleaning 15 rooms of chalet 4.
Ate Aires told me to clean the sala’s, swipe the dust set up the bed. In my
mind it quite be easy because I already knew it even if its been long a time
since we took our assessment and I already forget some of the method as a
housekeeper. I start to clean the floor up to set up the bed. That day I told
myself that being in actual work is not easy its very different from what we’ve
been learned from the school. Not just your body is tired but also your mind
too. You need to think more to observed to remember all the things that
they’ve told you. So that they didn’t thought you again what to do. My second
day is so tiring yet so happy and blessed because they are all funny and
approachable.

 ASSESSMENT DAY

DAY 3

In my Third Day, I was absent because I need

to attend my F&B assessment. We finish our
assessment half of the day. I choose to be in my
work place to consumed my time.

 CLEAN THE SORROUNDINGS OF CHALET 4

DAY 4

My 4rth day, we don’t know what to do because all the room are
clean. So we decided to clean the surroundings of the room. Sweep
all the dry leaves, trim the flowers. And after that take a rest. As
what I’ve learned and observed they are all focused on cleaning in
their respective areas and duties. Clean without the supervision, and
be grateful to us even if sometimes we do failures in our job. They
thought us and understand that we are just new in this field.

FOLDING LINENS

DAY 5

Today is my 5th day in my work immersion, I woke up this

morning feeling so happy and so excited because it is Friday,
it means that we can rest tomorrow given that its Saturday
tomorrow and its our rest day but I remember that I need to
duty tomorrow to complete mytime because im absent on
Wednesday to attend my assessment in F&B. In the morning
we are assigned to arrange the linens to clean the room and
wipe the furniture’s in the hotel. Remove the dirty linens and
placed the new one.

DANCE PRACTICE

Day 6

Since, I was absent on Wednesday, I need to complete

my ours. All the staff of chalet from 1 to 4 are just
practicing dance for there christmas party. We are
watching them becacuse we are not allowed to clean
the room without the RA that guiding us. So what we
do is just sitting, laying and bonding with the my co-
trainies or OJT and staff. We are just enjoy the day
until it ends. They are so friendly and happy person.

SET UP THE ROOM

DAY 7

I woke up in the morning, cant believe that its my second

week of immersion. The day was so fast, this week is our last
week. Same routine what we do on last week is the same. FO
told us that there is a room reservation. The guest is coming,
so we need to ready the room. I arranged the bed, the linens,
clean the floor sweep all the dust change the curatins.
Arrange the sala’s check the reef if it clean. Before leaving
the room we need to check again if anything is ready turn on
the aircon so that when the guest entering the room its
already cold, because I told you honestly the room was so
hot. After that we leave the room clean, fresh and ready for
the guest. Its very tired but its ok that’s my duties and I need
to work it.

 RETOUCH THE ROOM

DAY 8

Its day 8, end is nearer . This day we retouch the

room though we always clean the room we need to
clean it again and again because there’s still dirt,
especially in the couch, window and floor. Ate Aires
told me that we need to clean the room everyday
because there some guest scold you when they enter
the room dirty. As we are the RA we nee to maintain
our areas clean with or without guest, simply as they
say what is your sorroundingd reflects you. They so
very good.

CLEAN THE ROOM AFTER THE GUEST CHECK OUT

DAY 9

My 9th day, I have headache this day im not in the

mood to clean. I plan to absent but I don’t want to add
days to complete my hours so I decided to go to my
workplace even if im not feeling well. I just take some
medecine. As you in the picture we are cleaning again,
I assigned to clean the bathroom and the sala’s while
the others clean the room, the reef set up the bed. This
time we are four in one room to finish it early. For us
to take a rest

BASHOUTING

DAY 10

Its 10th day, in my mind this they would tiring day. Because
today the guest would checkout we need bash out the room. One
thing I’ve learned that everytime guest is check out we need to go to
the room. Because as a RA ur duties is not just cleaning the room
but also to check whats inside the room. If theres missing in the
item you should report immediately to the FO so that the FO ask the
guest and charged them to the item that missing. Familiarise the
item. After the guest out we need bash out the room, remove all the
dirty linens, change everything in the room. My god this this was so
tired. JUST FIGHT.

BONDING

My last day of work immersion in D’Loenor Inland Hotel . I am happy at a

same time a little bit sad. Happy because finally our work immersion would
finally end, it means no more cleaning of comfort room for me and I really
miss going to school. Sad because I will surely miss the people who guide us in
our work immersion, the people who teach us the things that aren’t though in
school. I will forever treasure the learnings, the lessons and the memories that
w’ve create in 10 days. For me 10 days is just a short days but we create a lot
of memories. I REALLY MISS EVERYTHING ESPECIALLY TO THE
STAFF WHO GUIDE US TO COMPLETE OUR IMMERSION
