I have gone through the Kotak Bank proposal and following are my inputs on the same:

1. In my previous stint, we didn’t went for such an extensive solutions from Kotak side and hence,
we only looked NACH (physical), Smart Collect and KashPay. But, as in MCFL we are going to
cater retail segment then we need to look all kind of products. Pricing of the product is on
similar lines but whereas the percentage figures are coming, I would request that operational
cost is in line with strategic plan on which Ankita is currently working.
2. I would suggest that we work on IRR effect of single cost which we are going to incur.
3. I don’t have any issues with Row number 2, 3, 4 & 5.
4. Please note that we have to factor the mandate return charges, cheque return charges etc.
because MCFL is going to bear the cost for the same and hence it will go down in the agreement
with customer.
5. There is no timelines which has been mentioned for the ENACH and normal NACH. Please
understand the difference and depending on the result we will have to ask our team members
to pressurize that mode of payment.
6. I am not able to understand the significance of Row 7 – eMandate Service and why we are
incurring cost for the same. Also, what SMS alert has to do with NACH and to whom this SMS
will be send and how we recover these costs from the customer.
7. Please let me know about the product 3 (row 12, 13, and 14). What are the product features
and how it will be useful to us.
8. Payment gateway we need to compare across all the options and hence I would request that let
us evaluate from pricing point once we have all the pricing structure for the payment gateways.
9. We are going to collect PDC, UDC etc. As per my understanding, we don’t require cheque
printing service. In place of this, they have separate facility called KashPay. Please evaluate that
service and then lets have discussion around the same.
10. Virtual account is also a great facility to evaluate. Lets have discussion around the same and I
have Bisleri example of Kotak to explain you the same. Here we need to take strategic call to
understand when to bring virtual account. Virtual account will only be beneficial when we are
receiving money either through IMPS, NEFT or RTGS. But looking at our customer set for gold
loan, I would suggest payment gateway and NACH are more then sufficient. For MSME or
Personal Loan, we can evaluate this functionality.
11. Product number 7 will be beneficial for us to proceed during Personal and MSME loan. But if we
are looking at real time disbursement, then we need to evaluate. We also need to understand
how disbursement authorisation works (Kotak Bank with Perdix). In this scenario, how
instructions will be issued from the LMS to Kotak Bank.
12. I am not able to understand Product 8 which is Penny Drop Facility. Lets have discussion on the
same.
