DRIB-JOM JIN-SEG
Short Fire Ceremony for Becoming Free From Drib. by Mip’ham

Note from Lama Dawa: This special ceremony should be performed by those who uphold the ngakpa’s vows or who has
completed the three-year retreat, in order to maintain purity and cleanse one’s energy. Ideally it should be performed every
month on your ‘la-sa.’ Usually one’s stray hair is saved and burned, as well as any nail clippings. In addition, one’s old
worn-out clothes can be burned as well. Practitioners on this level should never throw away one’s hair, nails, clothing or
personal items, nor should they let them into the hands of others. By doing so you risk dissipating your energy, or worse,
others can perform curses against you. They should be ritually burned using a sadhana like this one. Although there are
many versions of this practice in the different terma lineages and well as the Mahamudra tradition, it is this particular
practice that HH Dudjom Rinpoche recommends.

Like this, repeat 100, 1,000, etc. By performing this ritual, all your wishes will be successful (The Ngakpa’s wishes are the
Four Activities of pacification, enrichment, empowerment and subjugation). This was written by Mip’ham on the 19th day
of the 2nd month of the fire-bird year.

GE-O May all be auspicious.

Translated into English by Acharya Dawa Chhodak Rinpoche and Kunzang Dechen Chodron Feb. 1, 2009.

Notes from Lama Dawa: Mewa Tsegpa, or Bhurachi Bhur is one of the eight great yidams, is one of Vajrakilaya’s sons.
When one receives the full empowerment of Vajrakilya, one makes a connection to him. He is the consort of Nomjomma
and Gokarma (water and fire). He is typically depicted in a form similar to Vajrakilaya. In the ancient texts, he is a blue
man, kneeling with a sword and wearing bone ornaments.

We are feeding Mewa Tsegpa our cast away parts of our body (and sometimes clothes) and in turn purifying ourselves of
any drib, pollution, negative energies, etc.
