VCP (Village Concept Project)

The Village Concept Project is a social project initiated by IAAS Indonesia which aims to improve
the living standards of rural communities in terms of these sectors: Agricultural & Environment,
Education, & Community Empowerment.

Taji is an Indonesian village located in East Java 34 Km from Malang City. This village called
“The treasure under mountain” because it has many potential resources such as agricultural
commodities, natural resources and friendly community. Most of local community in Taji works
as farmer and farmworker that produce agriculture commodity like Horticulture crops (cabbage,
chili, carrots), Apple, Corn and Cassava. Taji has two formal school they are SDN 1 Taji and SDN
2 Taji.

Educational Condition
IAAS LC UB Programs On Educational Fields
1. School of “Taji Berpijar”

 This program will be held at SDN 2 Taji which has 2 classroms, the first classrom is for
grade 1 and 2, and the second classroom is for the class 3, 4, and 5. The program will be
done in 12 meetings include teaching about basic english, agriculture and environmental
and in the end of the program we also have an evaluation. The purpose of this program are
to help and give the knowledge about environment, agriculture and English skills, to
increase the readability of the children for agriculture and environment through modern
agriculture like hydroponics or verticulture which are applied in school, to grow the eager
to learn of the children and embed the hard working since early days to reach their dreams
and to develop and grow the potential from each child trogh the activity which leads to
character building like leadership

2. OmahSinau
Omah Sinau is words of Javanese languange means house of study. This program
is kind of mini library in SDN 2 Taji. This mini library aims to improve children’s interest
in reading. The books of this library gain from donations program which opened for public.
 Environmental and Agricultural Conditions

IAAS LC UB Programs On Environmental and Agricultural Conditions

1. Reforestation and developing Natural Tourism in Taji

This program will be held by working together with local community and persuade them
to plant annual trees in the agricultural areas, hillsied and landslides that has no trees anymore.

2. Utilize agricultural waste as organic fertilizer

This program also aims to reducing usage of chemistry fertilizer and support to
sustainability of agriculture.

3. Entrepreneurship and Local Community Development

We would like to make food product made from local commodity by empower housewife
in Taji Village. The steps are potential analysis, Trial and errors, socialization and housewife
training and market survey.
WOCO (World Congress)

World Congress is a forum of IAAS World. World Congress participants are delegates
from all country members from IAAS, including Indonesia. This event will be held every year and
has a series of events such as general assembly, industry visits, selection of IAAS World
administrators and also we can learn about cultures from another country.
