Explanation of Settings:
• Channel = This is the port(DB25) on the machine.
• Baud = The rate of speed at which the machine and the PC
communicate.
• Protocol = This is the language the machine uses according the the
following table.

Protocol Value Description

Designation
RADOP 0 DNC Direct Access
RS491P 4 Parity Check; Awaits DC1
RS491 5 No Parity; Awaits DC1
XONOFP 6 Parity Check; Xon/Xoff
XONOF 7 No Parity; Xon/Xoff

Time out 1 = This is the maximum time between the reception of 2
consecutive characters. Time is measured in (ms) and is adjustable in a
range from 0 to 60,000.

Time out 2 = Maximum time the machine will wait after a pause in the
connection. Time is measured in (ms).

EOF = End of file code, decimal value (0-255) in ASCII, of the

character signifying the end of a file in DNC mode.

Start Code = Decimal value (0-255) in ASCII, of the character

controlling the sending of the data from a PC.

Punch Code= Odd or Even character on tape (1=ISO(ASCII), 2= EIA)

 Max Nulls = 0 to 127 non-punched characters.

Duplex = Terminal mode only, whether the character type is

echoed. (0= No echo (full duplex), 1= echo (half duplex)

Machine Switch Bank Settings

These switches are found on the back of the control cabinet door,
right above the floppy drive.

1) Leave these dip switches in this position in order to change the Baud
rate in <EXE><Service><Communication>

2) Switches for whether the cable is a RS232 or a RS422
The black are the dip switches:

This case the cable is a RS422

This case the cable is a RS232

3) These dip switches are for whether a cable is Normal or

Switched. Refer to page 3 on cable configurations.

Communication with the Machine in MS-Dos
Setting up the PC to send a program

1) At the c prompt type this

mode com1: 48 n 8 1

NOTE: if the cable is connected to com2 than replace com1 above with
com2.

2) You will see your PC repeat what you typed but with
commas between 4800 n 8 1 and put a negative symbol
next to the 1.

3) At the c prompt type this

Copy [path][filename.ext] com1

NOTE: do not hit enter until the machine is ready to receive the program.

Setting up the machine to receive a program

You can get the machine ready to receive a program two different
ways:

1) At the <EXE mode> command prompt type this

CPY,DNC:[filename.ext]

NOTE: When you hit enter the machine will be ready to receive the program.

2) In the <PREP mode>go to <FILES> then <COPY> then

<PR>, then type in the destination and the file name. EX.
MEM:TEST.ISO
