The Walk to Emmaus is precisely designed to "make faithful disciples of Jesus Christ." Have you been more
faithful in your discipleship because of this tool we call The Walk to Emmaus?

I conducted the final session of the Alpha Course at Ardmore First UMC last night. The session was entitled "What
about the Church?" Of course one of the questions asked was, "Is it possible to be a Christian without going to
church?" Of course, the answer was "We are the Church."

I shared with those gathered that my richest experiences in the Christian life have been related to my worship,
study, and ministry within the local church. Moreover, the local church has facilitated my participation in camping
experiences, missions around the world and the Walk to Emmaus. There have been so many "Closest to Christ"
experiences over the years.

What is your most powerful "Closet to Christ" experience related to an Emmaus event--a Walk, a Reunion Group
session, a monthly Gathering, sponsoring a pilgrim. That is certainly material for a Fourth Day testimony. You
could share it briefly in the Cross Point Emmaus newsletter by mailing it to Charley Roberts, PO Box 387, Marietta,
OK 73448 or emailing him at croberts70@yahoo.com.

Are you looking for your next "Closest to Christ" experience? You know that the fall Walks are just right around the
corner. I invite you to treat yourself. Participate in one or several of the weekend events at Cross Point Camp on
Men's Walk #63 on September 28-October 1 or on the Women's Walk #64 on October 5-8.

Just singing "Sing Hallelujah to the Lord" does it for me every time. What does it for you?

De Colores,
Dan Patman

“…(I was) in prison and you visited me….I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of

Jesus

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.
Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.
Had no army, yet kings feared Him.
He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.
Feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!
