We all have a different perspective especially in the word LOVE. Love contains different
meanings and explanations because it is broad type of word. We always wonder of what
exactly love is and why is it that even when we don't fully understand love is, we tend to
make decisions-good and bad–based on love?

Love is a set of emotions, behaviors, and beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection,
protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another person. Love is one of the most profound
emotions we experience as humans. It's bigger than us, meaning, though we can invite it into
our lives, we don't have any control over the how, when and where love starts to express
itself. It truly does strike like a bolt of lightning to the chest where you unexpectedly
unprepared for it. The word love came from the Old English lufu, of Germanic origin; from
an Indo-European root shared by Sanskrit "lubhyati" means "desires", Latin "libet" means "it
is pleasing", libido means "desire", also by leave and lief.

We all attempt to know and understand what love truly is and how to know if we already
have it. Love is a tricky thing where we can feel it in a different states; when we're happy,
sad, angry, confused or excited. Our attitudes about love can range from affectionate love, to
infatuation and pleasure. We even use love as an action, as a force to keep our relationships
with partners, or friends and family, together. The ancient Greeks used seven words to define
the different states of love we can experience:

Storage: natural affection

Philia: friendship
Eros: sexual and erotica
Agape: unconditional,divine love
Ludus: flirting
Pragma: committed,married love
Philautia: self love
Showing love and affection can be express in many ways. Back in Spanish Colonial Times
the courtship in the Philippine is described as a "far more subdued and indirect". A Filipino
male suitor expresses his interest to a woman in a way of singing romantic love songs,
reciting poems, writing letters, and gift-giving. While a Filipina maiden is shy and secretive
about her real feelings for a suitor and denies it even though she is really in love with the man
in order to measure the sincerity of it. Later, couples may go out on their own, but this is still
to be done discreetly. If the couple has decided to come out and open about their romance,
they will tell their family thru pamamanhikan of the guy in the girl's parents. And if a guy
wants to be acceptable to the girl's family, he has to give gifts every time he drops by her
family's house because courting a Filipina means courting her family as well.
But as time goes by the way of showing love and courtship has been change through
millennium. In this modern time, young people engage more often in social media and dating
apps where showing affection takes place via chat in the internet and dating activities are
more intimate. Courtship became less formal, engaging theirselves in pre-marital sex, and
required no formal commitment to each other. In conclusion, the dating system has become
more liberated over time. Making love as a fun and was done for pleasure rather than as a
serious activity for the purpose of finding a lifelong mate.

But yet many still believe that love is for searching "the right one" and not for those nonsense
things that are meant for fun and lust. Like a Long Distance Relationship, even though it’s
risky many people still engage in this kind of relationship, because love can conquer all. Even
though the two people live far and cannot see each other often they choose to thrive and
treasure their relationship because they commit from each other and love made them stronger
to continue and move forward for the lifetime.

For me Love is a powerful magic that something you can't necessarily control. Something
that you unexpectedly never thought that you might get. Once you have and feel it, there's no
turning back. Love is such a spectacular thing that can make melt, feel euphoric with
someone and felt at ease on that certain person. Love also defines family and friends, they are
always there to give you advice and comfort. Family is the one that will guide and love you
for a last time. They will give effort just to make you feel that you're special and that's the
way how love can make. True friends are the one that make you happy when times of trouble,
they will make a way that all circumstances will overpass. Loves is everywhere even if you
appreciate a little things that is also called love.
