As part of our activity Sir Mac Dimple Maristela tell us that we need to create a
soap carving. That’s why all Grade 12 HUMSS students are need to bring a soap that
we used in carving.

Then I bring my own soap, while Sir Mc. Dimple decide that me and my group
create a turtle. I curve the soap as what I want, then when I finish to curve my soap Sir
Dimple tell us that we need to pass those soap. Then after all of my co-student finish

Performance Task

Soap Carving

Fish soap

In this activity we make carving from soap, we use perla soap in making our
carving because this kind of soap is not immediately damaged and melt. It’s not easy to
carve in soap because sometimes it can be messy and some parts of the soap break in
pieces so you need to use a proper tools and be careful in carving the parts of soap. Sir
Mc Dimple assign to our group to make fish from the soap so I decide to make a tilapia.
In first attempt, my carving broke to pieces so I decide to buy a new one then start a
new carving and for me its outcome is good.

CARVING ‘’ZOO ANIMALS’’

Carving is the act of using tools to shape something from a

materials. Also it is an object or design has been cut out of a material such as stone,
soap and wood. The picture above is an example of a carving and it is a handmade.
The materials I used a soap and pusher. This art is all about the zoo animal. The
carving is not easy, it is a task to spend a lot of time. Be careful and have a lot of
patience when carving. I choose snake because this animal is very familiar. It is a task
that can develop your skills in carving

Soap Carving

Baymax

Carving is the act of using tools to shape something from a material by scraping
away portions of that material. The technique can be applied to any material that is solid
enough to hold a form even when pieces have been removed from it, and yet soft
enough for portions to be scraped away with available tools.Choose a bar of soap. Any
soap will do, but the harder the soap, the more difficult it will be to cut. On the other
hand, if it is soft instead of firm, it will be more likely to crumble. Rectangular soap is
easier to cut for beginners than round soap. The color you use is up to you and your
project idea. Then get a stick or nail pusher. A carving or paring using this is perfect for
whittling down the soap into a basic shape. Then cover your work area. Spread
newspaper out over the area where you’ll do the carving. When you’re finished, you’ll be
able to wrap up the newspaper to easily remove the soap fragments.

Yes its harder to do this art work but if you have patience and willingness it is
enough to have a good work.
