Poor Job Fit: when the right person is in the wrong job

Introduction

Poor job fit happens when an individual is put in a job that doesn't coordinate their characteristic
qualities or doesn't accommodate their own and expert needs. Representatives who work in jobs
that are a solid match will in general be profitable, glad colleagues who stay. Then again,
representatives who work in jobs they aren't equipped to deal with will in general be less
profitable, less cheerful, and more averse to stay.

Conflict happens, to paraphrase the bumper sticker. It's part of our working life and often a
means to an end, a way to work out our differences and reach a conclusion. While some conflict
can be avoided, it's usually the approach you take that tends to exacerbate the issue, causing you
undue stress and maybe some early hair loss. It's all about the reaction.

Being in a less than perfect role, doesn't necessarily mean that you cannot continue to move
forward. It simply means that you must change the lens — and utilize the time in front of you in
ways that you may have not previously expected.

Background

The success of an organization always depends on the participation and job performance of their
employee’s. They are the one who is responsible in achieving the vision and goals of the
organization. Employee’s positive characteristic and feelings towards the work they perform lead
to job satisfaction. But somehow if their job doesn’t fit to their profession it may unfortunately
lead to resignation. Poor job fit plays a big factor for the employee’s decision to quit their job.
Alternatives

1.They can manage having their own business instead while they are finding their desired job.

-having such experience in business industry might lead to a good start once they find their
desired job. based on my statement, experiences are something that will teach us about anything
we still don’t know about. so while you are still on your way in finding your desired job, you can
gain experiences from your business; and surely it will help you because it can make you step
into the next level. which is because some other people don”t get the chance to gain such, and
that makes you someone in advance, since there might be people in your desired job who are
looking forward to those people who have experiences than those who do not have.

2.They can invest for their own needs while they’re waiting for their job.

dream big. it’s free to dream, no one will stop you, if you want something, make something
happen. always put yourself first before anything, because sometimes we need to work on it in
order to achieve something. make time for yourself and start making miracle to happen.

3.Find another work, apply to another company which fits to your desired job.

getting into something you are really not into is like diving in an ocean while you dont know
how to swim. more likely because you cant dive into something you dont know about, so finding
other choice is not bad at all. finding another work that will fit your desires will make you help
yourself, so you better get your decisions straight because if you desire something you make it
happen, you can go for it, take it, and begin the other work that fits you.

4.Apply a part time job, go for sidelines that is connected to their hobbies.
While you are still waiting for the opportunity of getting your work, you can make yourself busy
by using your own potential in such things as part-time job or sidelines that is connected on your
hobbies. you’ve got a lot of time waiting but you cant let it go to waste. you can look for
something that really suites you, and in that way you can make your time gold.

Solution and Recommendation

• Assign them in the position where they can showcase their capabilities and talents

Companies lose good employees primarily because they do not recognize their talent in time.
The employer should be aware that he is dealing with a skilled person and motivate him to
engage in the development of the company. Talent management is about identifying and
supporting the development of the most talented employees to implement the company’s
plans. The lack of talent management in companies means that the most talented employees
usually leave their companies because they don’t feel appreciated in the talent they shared to the
company. It is happy to feel that you are doing what you want in a company, it’s like enjoying it
while working on it. It is a big factor that you can work without stressing yourself.

• Always give them credits and let them feel that they are valued

Good employees will leave a company if they don’t receive recognition for their contribution,
and feel unappreciated. No one wants to continue to work hard and bring value to a company if
their efforts are ignored. A thank you from management is enough for them to feel that they are
appreciated.Recognizing employees for their contributions doesn’t have to include monetary
incentives. It can be as simple as a private conversation or email message or just simply let them
feel that they are appreciated in their doings by just congratulate them and give them honors so
that they are motivated in working their loads.

• Give them a chance to have an opportunity to be promoted

The reason why good employees quit is because they are not being developed. Employees
recognize that there is a lack of opportunity in their organizations. Employees value their careers
and wants the opportunity to advance. Managers who provide their employees opportunities to
develop their careers are in a good position to retain their employees. Managers must learn how
to find opportunities to develop their employees, advocate for their employees to gain
development opportunities through project teams and collaboration initiatives, and share their
employees with other managers so that employees can learn how to navigate the enterprise
organization and develop relationships with others.

• Give them a salary that can fit to the effort they give to the company

Unfair compensation. It is essential to recognize the value of a good employee and supply him
with a fair salary, bonuses, and extra benefits. Those that feel underpaid will also feel under
appreciated and will start looking for the compensation elsewhere. The right compensation
program invests employees into the work being done, which gives them a stronger sense of
satisfaction when the company succeeds. They know they will be rewarded for their efforts;
everyone likes to be appreciated.

• Always love your employees as if they are part of your family

The organizations that do treat their employees like valued family members develop a culture of
empathy and mutual trust. A sense of family is developed where employees feel like they belong
and feel valued and cared for. This caring environment allows people to fully engage their heads
and their hearts.
