Ammonia

Recommendation For transportation it should be used:

• Stainless steel or
• Carbon steel.

Speed:
• At liquid - No more than 0.3 m/s.
• At gas – No more than 30 m/s.

Pipe unions:
• Forged couple
• Forged tee´s or
• Elbows forged and welded in 3 steps.
Note: The first 2 steps should be in TIG process and the last one with
electrical welding 7018E.

Insulator:
• Nomalock with thickness from 1 to 1.5 in, it will depend on the diameter.

Stainless steel:
• Qualified staff must clean and install the insulator.
• At Nomalock’s joins and cuts in addition to the closing adhesive, install the
aluminum adhesive.

Carbon steel:
• Prepare with “First anticorrosive” and install with qualified staff.
• At Nomalock’s joins and cuts in addition to the closing adhesive, install the
aluminum adhesive.

Cut process Tee’s cuts, elbows and curves must be like the imagines.

Installation
- A secure separator between CIP and products line, so it should never be
installed a valve with just one stamp between CIP and product. (Just one
double sit valve).

- Pipelines and equipment capable of draining, the inclination of the pipe must
be 1-2%.

Condensate return

Recommendation System:

• Stainless steel 304 schedule 10.

Seed:

• No more than 3 m/s.

Pressure:

• 10 bars (145 psi).

Note: it’s possibillity to install a bomb trap if we want to avoid forcing the steam
tramp in standar operation, it’ll depend on the distance between trap and
number of these that are installed in common lines to return, as well as the
differents pressures of discharge, then it’s necessary a thorough analysis to
choose the air eliminator. (Annex link)

Buildings

Recommendation Walls:

• Solid blocks and/or

- The end of the grip must be polished, and the coating must be agreed
with multidisciplinary group to analyze the operation conditions from the
area; Thanks of this, choose normal or epoxy paint. (Make URS).

• Panel

- It must be class 1 (Fire retardant) and the thickness will depend from the
application and function. It will have to be supported by a block or
concrete muffle as shown in the image, and it won’t be installed at floor
level.

Fig 1
Floors:

• It must be built from a solid base to be able to coat this with tapetate and
gravel-sand as a fine base, it will avoid the break.

• Install a steam barrier between fine base and lean concrete. It will avoid or
minimize the steam transmission between floor to concrete.

• The termination must be with inclination toward 1-2% drainage and coated
with mortar and epoxy paint.

• The joints with walls should not end in corner, they must have health curve
with a radius of 5 cm.

• The joints between slabs will depend on the use that is offered to the floor.

• According to the operation of drains, it is more feasible to install a series of

draft drains that a trench trawler drain. That will improve the cost and
download capacity. Example:

Illumination:

• Possibility of not using any lamp and according to this have viable
alternatives to disposition of our needs, in that case it could be dome
windows and/or sun tubes.

• 150 to 300 luxe at operation area (Choose electrical or natural light).

• A lighting study will be necessary to determine the type of lamp and the
installation height.

Ventilation:

• Positive pressure of 5 to 10 Pascals with an air renovation between 15 20

times per hour.

• According to the requirements of the URS, for our process, it will be

necessary to select equipment for injection and extraction of air.
