Dear Dhamma Brothers,
We are pleased to inform you that Pāli Society of India(PSI) is going
to organize its 11th 2- Day International Pāli Conference (31.03.2020-
01.04.2020) with joint collaboration of Lumbini Buddhist University,
Lumbini (Nepal) on the pious occasion of Pāli Divas. The theme of the
conference will be “The Compassionate message of Lord Buddha”.
It is worth mentioning here that Pāli Society of India celebrates Pāli
Divas on 1st April of every year under the preview of International Pāli
Conference to propagate Pāli and Buddhism. The society has successfully
organized its previous 10 conferences in different cities of India such as
Mau, Varanasi, Kushinagar, Sankisa, Lucknow, Shravasti, Bodh Gaya and
Wardha.
We all know that Tripitakāchārya Dr. Bhikshu Dharmarakshita
Mahāthero was born at Hatawa village near Kushinagar on April 1, 1923
who has contributed a lot in the development and revival of Buddhism in
India. Not only many books of Pāli Language have been translated by him
into Hindi language but also he has written a number of books in Hindi
language on Pāli grammar and Buddhism. To remember and show our
gratitude towards Bhikshu Dharmarakshita Mahāthero, Pāli Society of India
organizes Pāli Divas on his natal day. On this sacred occasion we want to
see you at the birthplace of the Lord Buddha.
