INTRODUCTION
Children require special treatment in terms of health care. They are not like adults; therefore
the need for specialized hospital for paediatrics care is imperative. The project must have a
different approach from normal hospital architecture. The design shall provide quality space
to physical and mental comfort not just for the patients but also to the parents through the
comfortable atmosphere and environment created. The Children’s Health care Centre not just
provides curative treatment but also palliative care. Considering the factor that a child's
development starts from the mothers womb, OBG department is also incorporated with
facility

AIM
Designing of a Mother and Child hospital along with a children’s Hospice.

The project focuses on the concept of healing architecture and aims on quality spacial design
that can give a positive impact to the mental health of the patients which ultimately results in
better curing of the diseases. Also the to create a positive atmosphere to the families being in
the hospital. Implementing different kind architectural interventions so as to create a better
environment improve the quality.

The facility will also feature a Day-care, Montessori, Children's library, Park, Play ground,
Meditation area and other facilities to support the design.

OBJECTIVES
Understanding the functional aspects of a hospital and hospice.

Understanding child friendly spaces and healing architecture for children and their parents.

Understanding green and sustainable construction.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

All paediatrics and OBG departments and their spaces of a hospital will be addressed. Also
palliative centre for children will be provided. A day-care centre, Montessori, Children’s
library, parks etc. will also be included.

 URBAN MARKET

INTRODUCTION
A properly functioning clean, hygienic and accessible market space is required in a city. The
market of a place has a great scope to be one of the major tourist destinations of that area
showing the culture, activities and architecture of that place.

AIM
To redesign existing Ernakulam market and providing a clean and hygienic spaces and proper
accessibility to the area. The intervention also aims to convert the market space into a major
tourist attraction area through architectural interventions.

OBJECTIVES
Understanding the functional aspects of a market and comparing it with existing market.

Understanding the urban characteristics of the market and identifying the methods in
redesigning the market.

Understanding green and sustainable interventions in creating a new market.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

A complete urban market space with master plan layout with detailed recreational facilities,
services, sanitation layout, accessibility etc.

The design will be limited to interior details.

 TRANSIT HUB

INTRODUCTION
A place where passengers are exchanged between vehicles or/and between transport modes.
Transport hub includes train station, metro stations, bus station, airport connections and ferry.

AIM
To propose a mixed use transit hub for Ernakulam city

OBJECTIVES
Understanding the functional aspects of transport architecture.

Understanding the urban characteristics of Ernakulam and how effectively the transportation
connection in Ernakulam works.

Understanding green and sustainable interventions in creating the transit building.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

A complete transit building with master plan, accessibility, transportation connections, basic
details of different transport mode connections, commercial & recreational facilities, services.

The design will be limited to structural and interior details.
