The document discusses control of a drive through a Standard Modbus Link using a Modbus controller. Key points:
1. An RMBA-01 Modbus Adapter installed in slot 1 or 2 of the drive forms an interface called the Standard Modbus Link for external control via Modbus RTU protocol.
2. Parameter 98.02 must be set to "STD MODBUS" to initialize communication. Communication parameters like station number, baud rate, and parity are configured in group 52.
3. Control parameters in the drive need to be checked and adjusted as needed for Modbus control.

Control through the Standard Modbus Link
An RMBA-01 Modbus Adapter installed in slot 1 or 2 of the drive forms an interface called the Standard Modbus Link. The Standard Modbus Link can be used for external control of the drive by a Modbus controller (RTU protocol only). It is possible to switch the control between the Standard Modbus Link and another fieldbus adapter, in which case the RMBA-01 is installed in slot 2, the fieldbus adapter in slot 1. Communication set-up The communication through the Standard Modbus Link is initialised by setting parameter 98.02 to STD MODBUS. Then, the communication parameters in group 52 must be adjusted. See the table below. Table 2 Communication set-up parameters for the Standard Modbus Link. After the parameters in group 52 have been set, the drive control parameters (shown in Table 4) should be checked and adjusted where necessary. Parameter Alternative Settings Setting for Control through the Standard Modbus Link Function/Information COMMUNICATION INITIALISATION 98.02 COMM. MODULE LINK NO; FIELDBUS; ADVANT; STD MODBUS; CUSTOMISED STD MODBUS Initialises communication between drive (Standard Modbus Link) and Modbusprotocol controller.
