FORMAT FOR SITE ANALYSIS

Cover the below given parameters with respect to proposed site and site analysis

GENERAL INFORMATION ON SITE AND THE CONTEXT

1. Location (regional context) along with accessibility parameters (physical context)
2. Socio-cultural & economic background
3. Current scenario / conditions
4. Threshold population number (whom the proposed project shall benefit)
5. Any other relevant information / data as applicable

DETAILED INFORMATION ON SITE AND THE IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS

1. SITE STUDY
A) Site study
(Geographical conditions, topography, site shape and size, feasibility of site)
2. BYELAWS AND REGULATION ANALYSIS
3. SITE SURROUNDINGS
4. CLIMATE
5. GEOGRAPHY
6. ACCESS /CONNECTIVITY /PROXIMITY

B) SITE ANALYSIS
 SITE DETAILS AND ANALYSIS (accessibility, context, surroundings, climate, geographical conditions, wind
movement etc.)
 ROADS – ACCESSIBILITY & CONNECTIVITY (site location with respect to main road, main access highway,
surrounding developments, etc.).
 POSSIBLE ENTRY/EXIT POINTS
 TOPOGRAPHY, SITE AND SURROUNDINGS, NATURAL ELEMENTS AND FEATURES, CLIMATIC DATA
ANALYSIS
 EXISTING BUILDING FOOTPRINT /SITE FEATURES SUCH AS TREES/WATER/ WELL/ROCKS/ HIGH
TENSION CABLES, ETC.

C) INFERENCES AND CONCLUSIONS

Kindly note:
 Site analysis should be represented in appropriate scale with the entire mandatory information specific
to site and surroundings.
 Note that the above parameters are minimum requirements. Hence, you can consider additional
parameters as applicable to your project. You can prepare reports/results of the survey conducted.
 Compose all the information, data, analysis and inferences in maximum TWO sheets of A1 size.
 Site visit and analysis to be completed prior to the commencement of the X semester.
 Kindly note that it is compulsory to discuss the site analysis sheets (hard copy) on the first day of the
studio.
