1 Summary
The study was carried out to assess the impact of immoral dressing among Christian youths
in the 21st century church. Descriptive research design as part of the methodology in this research.
The sampling technique used was random sampling to select respondents from parishes within
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osun Province 7. The respondents includes: pastors,
parents and youths that are either married or single. 100 copies of a questionnaire was used to
collect data from the respondents. Five (5) objectives and three (3) research questions were
formulated for the study. Percentage frequency and count methods were used for the presentation
and analysis of the data collected. Having collected the data and gone through the entire
presentations, it was found out that: Immoral dressing amongst Christian youths can be assessed
through: Christian youths’ appearance, people’s reactions, societal and scriptural disapprovals and
Christian youth’s misbehaviors. Immoral dressing is an ungodly dressing that is a societal social
malady, against societal norms and is as well demon-influenced. Immoral dressing’s negative
effect to the church includes: an enhanced demonization amongst Christian youths, alarming
raping rate, conspicuousness of sinful acts and an increase in flagrant disobedience to church
leadership. Some of the ways parents encourage immoral dressings which includes: parents
frowning at pastor’s correction of their wards, negligence of parents to their youthful children’s
dressing styles, parents dressing their children at early stages of their lives in an ungodly way and
parents acquiring ungodly dresses for their children. Damages immoral dressing have on Christian
youths in the society can be assessed through negative societal feedbacks, a fall in doctrinal
standards, ministerial criticism of the acts and negative practices amongst the Christian youths.
5.2 Contribution to Knowledge
This work when published will contribute to knowledge through;
Redefining Immoral Dressing in a way that suits the theology of Christian Doctrines.
Addressing the issues of immoral dressings bedeviling the Christian youths in the 21st century
church.
Correcting the wrong notion of a vast majority of the human populace that Christianity is an
amoral religion as touching their dress sense.
Proffering of strategic solution as ways to curbing Christian youths from being totally demonized,
ungodly and danger-prone as regards there dressing styles in this 21st century.
5.3 Conclusion
It was concluded that immoral dressing amongst Christian youths in the 21st century church
cannot only be assessed through: Christian youths’ appearance, people’s reactions, societal and
scriptural disapprovals alone but by Christian youth’s misbehaviors. Also, Immoral dressing is
definitively any ungodly dressing that is a societal social malady, against societal norms as well as
demon-influenced. Moreso, parental negligence, acquiring ungodly dresses for their children,
dressing children at infancy in an ungodly way and frowning at pastor’s rebuking their children
with respect to immoral dressing are ways of encouraging immoral dressing. Lastly, damages
immoral dressing have on Christian youths in the society can be assessed through negative societal
feedbacks, a fall in doctrinal standards, ministerial criticism of the acts and negative practices
amongst the Christian youths.
