THE WILL

First of all for Schopenhauer the main reason for everything is in the will, it governs us over all things

and takes possession in each of the actions of the human being, it is a universal force that can itself

govern our behavior and can lead to our ruin, so it is a capacity that can destroy the whole being, if we

take this point of view the will can be seen as the need to have or want something and through this

vicious circle we will consume ourselves in the desire to want more.

The will itself is not bad, but, that it has a power beyond what a human being could handle, where

everything could be denied in its existence, Schopenhauer gives 3 possible methods to control the

will:

• First there is art, it must be used to express all untiring desires and thus be able to release all energy

from the body

• Second is passion, where you will need to feel for others and for yourself, where they are in a form

of expression towards any form of life where you can show your need to ensure all that exist.

• Third and last is the insensitivity to everything, you don't care about anything and nobody cares

about you, this is the way you don't worry about material existence and wanting something else for

yourself.

What Schopenhauer said is very true since the human being is dominated by the desire to get more,

even if he already has everything, for an example of this uncontrollable desire can be taken with the

need of many children that having a toy makes him they use it for a short time, discard it and ask for

something else, this is the obsession that the human being has for having more.
Now, Nietzsche states that survival is the engine of life where each individual seeks to survive by any

means, this engine will always be linked to the fittest, so every living being has within it a great force

called the will to power ; this will to be able to react to the need to be better than others, this need is

what makes us evolve and improve to be the most powerful living creature on the planet, for example

see the cheetah as the fastest animal in the world, this it is possible thanks to the will that this animal

had to overcome others in something, in human beings the will to power leads to jumping the laws of

society without unbalancing order, so Nietzsche creates a figure called the superman the which is a

born leader who seeks freedom over the society of the moment, without jeopardizing order and

maintaining the balance of the world, also seeking to turn others into the same as he demonstrating a

leadership character to send to the current humanity.

Finally, it can be said that the will of Nietzsche is the best way to see the strength of the will in human

beings, so this figure of the super man can really exist and an example of this would be Nelson

Mandela where I change the thought of a continent without even shedding blood and there are many

more examples of super men.

In conclusion, the will is a power that is above the capacity of the human being, however it can be

achieved by fulfilling certain requirements where we test our thinking and mastery of our desires, in

order to finally be leaders who contribute to the humanity.
