Components

The oil tank is a cast housing which is mounted on the fan case at the 3
o'clock position (aft looking forward).
The oil reservoir includes the components that are listed below:
• Gravity-fill port with protective 10 x 10 wire-mesh screen.

• Gravity-operated flapper shutoff valve to prevent oil tank over fill


(located in the reservoir).

• Locking oil filler cap with backup flapper valve to prevent oil from
escaping if the cap is not sealed properly.

• Sight glass for visual oil level indication.

• Drain plug.

• Vortex-type deaerator to separate scavenge return air from the oil


and direct it to the forward sump.
