Installation and Uninstallation
Installation
A wizard is included on your installation CD that makes installation straightforward. Before you
begin, however, we strongly recommend you to read the following general description of the
installation procedure.
The first step of the installation procedure is to find the dongle supplied with your software.
During the installation procedure, or the first time you run an application, if you find any
difficulties installing the software, please contact us at the Textronics address given on the cover
of this guide.
The dongle is a hard lock key in the form of a plug, which is essential for the software to work.
Before installation you must insert the dongle into the parallel port of your computer, where it will
remain permanently. Preferably you should attach the dongle while your computer is turned off.
You can then connect your printer cable to the end of the dongle if you normally use a printer on
that port.
Next, start your computer under Windows. If you have any other applications running, you are
strongly advised to close them before beginning installation. Now insert your installation CD into
the CD-ROM drive of your computer.
Procedure for Installation of the Design Dobby---

How to Create
As you set the Parameter, the Graph window appears on the screen. Till now, you are aware
of how to work on peg plan, draft, warp and dent windows. Similarly, create a base for your
designs by working on those commands. Then start working on the Extra warp/weft designs.
Before starting, first decide what type of motif you are planning to prepare and create the peg
plan and draft for it manually. But in any Extra Warp/Weft design you have to keep in mind
that you always have to Skip One warp/weft while preparing a peg plan, draft. As you
prepare the peg plan and draft, the design appears on the Design Window, take the mouse
pointer on the Extra warp/weft window.
Design Dobby provides the facility of creating Extra Warp/Weft to work on some motif types

Parameters just like you set before starting any designs.
To execute this:
Activate the Extra Warp window by clicking it with the mouse pointer.
The blinking cell appears on the screen. Take it to the point of origin, from where the design
starts.
Define the first Extra warp at the point of origin by clicking the Left Click.
Now, skip the one cell and draining a one cell and press the Left Click, each time draining a
cell to define an Extra warp.
By skipping one cell each time, work with your Extra warp, till your design gets completed.
Similarly execute the Extra Weft. This is the way to prepare an Extra Warp/weft design
manually.

Tint
The Tint scroll bar measures tint in terms of percentages. To adjust Tint, you simply drag the
scroll box or click on the bottom scroll arrow. Negative percentages wash out the colors
relative to the original design, with -100% resulting in a pure gray tone design. Positive
percentages increase the intensity of colors in the design.
Tone
The Tone scroll bar measures value in terms of percentages. To adjust value, you simply drag
the scroll box or click on the right scroll arrow. Negative
Percentages darken the colors relative to the original design, with -100% resulting in a pure black
tone design. Positive percentages increase the brightness of colors in the design.
Adjusting Color, Tint and Tone component values
To correct for color shifts caused by input devices, or to create special color or intensity
effects for your designs, you can adjust the Color, Tint and Tone of indexed color Design.

Matching Blanket
When you are using color ways in your design, blanket is one of the most useful views that
you can get from your design. A blanket actually is a kind of fabric that has been generated
by combining all color ways of your design. Suppose that you have N color ways in your
design. Then your blanket has N repeats height an N repeats width. The colors for warps in
each of these repeats is exactly the same colors of warps in the corresponding color way. For
example the colors for warp in repeat number 2 are the colors of color way number 2 in
warps.
Also the colors for weft will be selected in the same manner from the weft color ways. Now
it’s easy to imagine that you can find your fabric's main repeat and its different color ways
from 1 to N on the diameter of the blanket. And also you can find all possible combinations
of warp and weft color ways in your blanket.
No of warp blocks: The number of warp blocks must be set here. The default value for this
field is the number of available color ways for the design.
No of weft blocks: The number of weft blocks must be set here. The default value for
this field is the number of available color ways for the design.
List of color ways: In this list box you can see all the available color way names for the
design. Here you can choose the desired color ways you want to participate in the blanket.
The checked ones are selected in the blanket and the others will be discarded.
Show names: As mentioned before, you can find your different Color ways on the
diameter of the blanket. If you check this check box, then you can see the color way name of
each repeat on its top left corner on the diameter.
Generate Blanket: Press this button after making change in the values of warps and
wefts information to generate new blanket.
Add: After you preview the design, switch on Add video button to Add the design by just
double clicking on the blanket design swatch.
Create Design: Here you can Save the blanket as a *dob format.
POP Up
Select a maximum 16 designs at a time and say Open by clicking on the Open
command. As you say this, the blanket dialogue box appears on the screen.
When you select 16 designs you are in effect viewing 16x16=256 combinations of
designs.
