Subject Title : INTRODUCTION TO PHILIPPINE POLITICS AND GOVERNANCE

Pre-requisite : Introduction to Political Science

Course Description:

A study of the development, organization and processes of Philippine political and governance system

Program Objectives

Students of Diplomacy and International Trade are expected to


1. Develop a broad knowledge of the structure and dynamics of the domestic and international relations by learning the theories, principles and concepts of
international relations, international organizations, international trade, international political economy, foreign policy, and diplomacy;
2. Demonstrate a deep appreciation of the past and contemporary social, cultural, economic, and political affairs of the Philippines and world society;
3. Analyse critically domestic and international relations issues;
4. Exhibit fluent and articulate communication skill in oral and written forms;
5. Show leadership skills in governance and administration, including awareness of protocol and etiquette of the practice of diplomacy and international
relations;
6. Be prepared to take the Civil Service examination and Foreign Service Examination; and
7. Be qualified in careers that require knowledge of international finance, global production process and transnational business operation such as banks,
multinational corporations, international organizations, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), domestic corporations and companies with
global and regional operation
