Resident Artist Opens Year with Exhibit in Manila

Hersley Ven Casero, Foundation University’s resident artist,   is set to stage a solo art
exhibit at Space Encounters Gallery in Ortigas Center, Manila. Exhibit opens on January
21, Thursday, 6PM and runs until February 5.

On   the   Rocks   is   an   extension   of   his   exhibit   during   his   stint   at   Chalk   Hill   Artist
Residency   in   California   held   September   last   year.   The   works   were   inspired   by   the
setting of his recent artist residency program  the geological history of the formation of
the Warnecke Ranch and Vineyards.

In   retrospect,   Casero   was   among   the   2019   participants   for   the   Chalk   Hill   Artist
Residency   Program.   The   program   provides   opportunities   for   artists   across   various
mediums to pursue creative work in a conducive space and time.

Foundation University, through its artist residency program, upholds the importance of
the role of arts and culture in order “to educate and develop individuals to become
productive, creative, useful and responsible citizens of society.”

In 2015, Casero was appointed as FU's Resident Artist after his stint as a photographer
with the Creative Department since 2006. Over the years, he has engaged in group art
exhibitions   both   in   local   and   regional   galleries   specifically   in   the   country’s   capital,
Manila.
