AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TUITION AND OTHER FEES TO BE


COLLECTED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF CALOOCAN CITY (UCC) FOR ITS POST-
GRADUATE DEGREES AND STATING THE CORRESPONDING TERMS OF
PAYMENT THEREFOR

WHEREAS, Section 458(5)(x) of R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government
Code of 1991 provides for the authority of local government units in cities to
“establish and provide for the operation of xxx post-secondary institutions” and to
“fix and collect reasonable tuition fees and other school charges in education
institutions supported by the city government”;

WHEREAS, City Ordinance No. 0375, series of 2004 established a full-fledged


university thenceforth called the University of Caloocan City with the purpose of
“offering quality education at a reasonable and affordable cost”, among others;

WHEREAS, Section 2 of City Ordinance No. 0569, series of 2015 provides that the
University of the Caloocan City Board of Regents, as the university’s highest
policy making body, shall determine the amount of tuition fees and other
miscellaneous charges to be imposed upon the students;

WHEREAS, pursuant to various Resolutions all dated 11 July 2017 promulgated by the
UCC Board of Regents and in keeping with the financial needs of operating the
university, an updated schedule of fees for both the UCC College of Law and
UCC Graduate School is set forth.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Caloocan


City pursuant to the provisions of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, R.A. No.
7160, and other pertinent laws that:

SECTION 1. Post-graduate degrees shall refer to the Bachelor of Laws/Juris Doctor


degree offered by the UCC College of Law (COL) and the Master’s and
Doctorate degrees offered in the UCC Graduate School (GS).

CHAPTER I
UNIVERSITY OF CALOOCAN CITY COLLEGE OF LAW (UCC COL)

SECTION 2. The UCC College of Law shall collect the following fees from students who
wish to be enrolled therein:

a. College of Law Entrance Examination


i. For Caloocan residents or UCC graduates ------------------------- Php 750.00
ii. For non-Caloocan residents or non-UCC graduates ------------- 1,000.00
b. Tuition fee (per unit/per semester)

ii. For non-Caloocan residents or non-UCC graduates ------------- 750.00
c. Miscellaneous Fees (per student/per semester)
i. Medical/Dental Fee --------------------------------------------------------- 200.00
ii. Library Fee -------------------------------------------------------------------- 300.00
iii. Keyboarding/Computer/Internet Fee ----------------------------------- 150.00
iv. Legal Aid and Research Fund -------------------------------------------- 250.00
v. Social Activities Fee --------------------------------------------------------- 250.00
vi. Publication Fee --------------------------------------------------------------- 150.00
vii. Identification Card Fee ------------------------------------------------------ 200.00
viii. TOTAL MISCELLANEOUS FEES --------------------------------------- 1,500.00

SECTION 3. Terms of Payment for UCC COL. Students who wish to enroll in the UCC
College of Law shall pay the aforementioned fees through any of the following
methods, to wit:

a. Full payment of fees upon enrollment; or,


b. Installment method wherein:
INITIAL PAYMENT/DOWNPAYMENT UPON 40% of Total School Fees
ENROLLMENT
MIDTERM PAYMENT 30% of Total School Fees
FINAL PAYMENT 30% of Total School Fees

CHAPTER II
UNIVERSITY OF CALOOCAN CITY GRADUATE SCHOOL (UCC GS)

SECTION 4. The UCC Graduate School shall collect the following fees from students
who wish to be enrolled therein:

a. Tuition fee for Master’s Programs (per unit/per semester)


i. For Caloocan City residents or UCC graduates ------------------- Php 250.00
ii. For non-Caloocan City residents or non-UCC graduates ------- 400.00
b. Tuition fee for Doctorate Programs (per unit/per semester)
i. For Caloocan City residents or UCC graduates ------------------- 350.00
ii. For non-Caloocan City residents or non-UCC graduates ------- 500.00
c. Other Fees (per student/per semester)
i. Master’s Thesis Fee -------------------------------------------------------- 17,500.00
ii. Doctorate Dissertation Fee ----------------------------------------------- 25,000.00
iii. Master’s Comprehensive Examination Fee -------------------------- 2,000.00
iv. Doctorate Comprehensive Examination Fee ------------------------ 3,000.00

SECTION 5. Terms of Payment for UCC GS. Students who wish to enroll in the UCC
Graduate School shall pay the preceding fees through any of the following
methods, to wit:

a. Full payment of fees upon enrollment; or,


b. Installment method wherein:
INITIAL PAYMENT/DOWNPAYMENT UPON 20% of Total School Fees
ENROLMENT

MIDTERM PAYMENT 40% of Total School Fees

FINAL PAYMENT 40% of Total School Fees

SECTION 6. The UCC Administration is hereby mandated to take necessary measures


such as, but not limited to, posting copies of this Ordinance in conspicuous
places inside the university premises in order to ensure that stakeholders are
adequately informed of the fees and the terms of payment provided herein.

SECTION 7. Repealing Clause. – All ordinances, rules and regulations, or parts thereof,
in conflict or inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby
repealed or modified accordingly.

SECTION 8. Effectivity. – This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon the
affirmative vote of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
