Cloning is the process of generating a genetically identical copy of a cell or an organism.

Cloning happens often in nature for example, when a cell replicates itself asexually without any
genetic alteration or recombination. But what exactly is cloning and how can it affect humans,
animal, and environment that we belong to?. Can Cloning be a remedy for the extinction and
endangerment of animals?. How can humans contribute to the unending climate change and
global warming?.

Any attempt to clone a mammoth would probably require a living elephant to act as a
replacement. There are very good reasons for using animals in scientific research, but there are
also strict ethical codes of practice that demand that the potential benefits of the research
outweigh the suffering to the animals involved. What about the inventions that could be made in
understanding elephant reproductive biology?. Researchers must fully know how can it be
beneficial for us humans and ecosystem to clone a nearly extinct animal rather than a living
species where result may be fully maximize. The only reason why people wants to clone a
mammoth is the hope of salvation that the mammoth will save on their brink of extinction in the
ecosystem. Cloning a mammoth offers us the hope of undoing the excesses of humanity,
bringing back the creatures whose extinction we helped bring about. Some experts in ecology
and conservation doubt not only the viability of introducing these animals into nature, but also
the appropriateness of doing so. A frequent argument is that the former mammoth habitat no
longer exists today. Zimov, a Russian scientist suggests that we shall introduce some types of
animals which haven’t been in this area for 15,000 years or even ever, and showed that they are
capable of adapting to a new environment. Zimovs’ hypothesis is that the grasslands
disappeared when hunting eliminated the herbivores that maintained them; therefore, they
argue, by reintroducing them, the grasslands will return. Their project can contribute to the
fight against climate change: grasslands, cooler than forests, will help keep permafrost frozen,
thus preventing the release of greenhouse gases. The more diverse the ecosystem, the better it is,
so with mammoths our ecosystem would be more effective and aggressive.

Extinction of animals is not new for us humans, every minute endangered species keep
on decreasing as humans increase thus it forms an unequal population that inhibit animal
species to decline because of human negligence.
