Self-service HR: arranging you HR-related affairs

Self-service HR allows you to handle your administrative HR affairs, such as leave registration, expense
claims and changes to your personal details. You can also check your monthly and annual salary
statements here.

Work schedule
New employees must enter their work schedule (the specific hours and days you will be working) in Self-
service HR. You can subsequently register your leave hours. Your leave entitlement depends on your
specific appointment and flexible work duration scheme.

Leave registration
It is important that you take regular (holiday) leave to recharge both mentally and physically. During the
year, your manager will encourage you to do so. As an employee you are responsible for planning and
registering your leave hours. You are supposed to take up the total number of leave hours in the calendar
year you accrued them. You must register these hours in Self-service HR. Read more about Leave
registration.

Salary
The salary payment date is around the 24th of each month. For more information, check
intranet.uu.nl/en/salary.

Expense and advance claims

Occasionally, you may incur work expenses that cannot be invoiced directly to Utrecht University. You can
claim these expenses in Self-service HR. You can also apply for an advance payment. Read more about
