The Learners demonstrates understanding of common and distinct musical
characteristics of East Asian countries
B. Performance Standards:
The Learner performs East Asian music with appropriate pitch, rhythm, expression
and style
C. Competency Standards:
The Learner explains how East Asian music relates to its geography and culture;.

 Identify distinct characteristics of music in East Asia in relation to the history.
 Compare the characteristics of music produced in different countries.
 Appreciate the importance of musical instruments in the lives of people

Activity:
Directions: From the pictures of costumes, folk symbols, artworks, scenery and other
aspects of culture of the East Asian countries (Japan, China and Korea), identify the
origin of the objects.

Guide questions:

 What did you observe on the given pictures?


 Do you have an idea What our topic for today?
 How do these pictures show aspects of East Asian culture?
 What similarities with other East Asian countries can you identify in these objects?
