Proyecto: “Fabrication of composite structures based on magnetic
nanoparticles for biological applications (CB‐ 2010/151767)”

Durante 3 años de ejecución (2012‐2015), terminamos todas las tareas
planeadas en este proyecto. Se fabricaron nanoparticulas magentitas de
diferentes tamaños entre 19 ‐ 280 nm en fase pura con carácter
superparamagnetica que necesita para aplicaciones biológicas. Tambien se
pudo fabricar las capas mesoporosas de sílice sobre las nanopartículas de
magnetitas de diferentes tamaños (19‐280 nm) y optimizo los condiciones de
fabricación. Se caracterizó las nanopartículas compósitas por TEM, HRTEM,
BET (isotermas de adsorción‐desorción de nitrógeno) para evaluar sus
morfología, tamaño y área superficial. Se realizó pruebas para incorporar
fármacos en estas estructuras mesoporosas compósitas y su liberación en
soluciones similares del fluido de cuerpo humano. Para lograr la meta del
proyecto las nanoestructuras compositas (Fe3O4@meso‐SiO2) fueron probadas
para verificar sus bio‐compatibilidades utilizando células humanas como
células de cáncer de mama (MCF‐7), células de cáncer ovario (SKOV‐3), además
en células sanos como fibroblastos pulmonarias MRC‐5 & IMR‐90. Se concluyó
que las nanopartículas compósitas fabricadas en este proyecto son
biocompatibles y son capaz de trabajar como portadores de drogas en órganon
humanos de manera guiada con campo magnético).
Se incorporó dos estudiantes posdoctorales en este proyecto uno por 6 meses
y otro por un año, que terminaron sus estancias en junio 2013 y junio 2014. Se
incorporó tres estudiantes (Diego León Sánchez, Mariana Figueroa Colón y
Alejandra López Vázquez) de licenciatura para desarrollar su tesis, quienes
terminaron sus trabajos recibiendo títulos. Dos estudiantes doctorales (M.C.
Sergio Isaac Uribe Madrid y Natalia Morales Flores) trabajo en este proyecto
para desarrollar su tesis doctoral y ya terminaron sus trabajos y obtuvieron sus
títulos. Durante este periodo (2012‐2015), por medio de este proyecto se
