Lesson Plan in English 8

I. Objectives

At the end of a one-hour period, the 90% of the students are able to:

a. read with comprehension the selected text;


b. point out details mentioned in the selection;
c. describe the Filipino traditions mentioned in the article; and
d. give the importance of Filipino traditions and beliefs.

A. Motivation
What is your favorite dish?

(Show different pictures of dishes)

B. Pre-reading

Now, we will read a selection, “Why Sinigang?”

Do you know what Sinigang is?

What is so special about the Sinigang?

The following words will be found in the selection. Can you match them with their meaning from the
box below?

(The student corresponding the drawn number will read aloud from the projector, while others follow
silently.)

After, don’t forget to say, “Wow, that was great!”
