OUTLINE

Why RA 9003 is important?

For me, it is really important in matter of reminding us in limitations and establishing protection order in
our environment. This law implement with the guidelines in proper disposal in categorize in different
waste. It also tell who are the group of people lead us in saving mother earth and the more important are
the penalties and fines provided in by the law.

As an individual how could I help?

It easy to help by starting at home, in proper disposal but before that let me define the types of waste
commonly found around the house.

Types of waste

1. Liquid Waste

Liquid waste is commonly found both in households as well as in industries. This waste includes dirty
water, organic liquids, wash water, waste detergents and even rainwater.

2. Solid Rubbish

Solid rubbish can include a variety of items found in your household along with commercial and industrial
locations.

 plastic waste
 paper/card waste
 tins and metals
 ceramics and glass

3. Organic Waste

Organic waste is another common household. All food waste, garden waste, manure and rotten meat are
classified as organic waste. Over time, organic waste is turned into manure by microorganisms. However,
this does not mean that you can dispose them anywhere.

4. Recyclable Rubbish

Recyclable rubbish includes all waste items that can be converted into products that can be used again.
Solid items such as paper, metals, furniture and organic waste can all be recycled.

5. Hazardous Waste

Hazardous waste includes all types of rubbish that are flammable, toxic, corrosive and reactive.
These items can harm you as well as the environment and must be disposed of correctly. Therefore, I
recommend you make use of a waste removal company for proper disposal of all hazardous waste.

As a help, here are some tips in proper disposal

1. Sort your garbage into a few different bins.

2. Bring any garbage that can be reused, such as toys or clothing to a secondhand store to be
resold.
3. Lessen the use of plastic.
4. Turn food and garden waste into compost
5. And last collect any remaining garbage into a trash bag and place it into a garbage bin. Take note
seal the top so that animals won’t be able to get into it. Leave the bin sight for garbage
collectors on your pick up day.

As an individual you can to self our mother earth by being responsible in all the waste you contribute.

Who are the leaders?

In R.A 9003 Chapter II Article 1 section 4 tells who are the government lead us in protecting the
environment. Describe their task and responsibility in implementing rules and regulation in our
barangay, cities and as a whole.

In saving our environment can also give us a productive community. Example using recyclable materials
we can create product that can enter business industry like what we’ve done before. In my group we
create coin purse from plastics of junk foods. It can give income and lessen our waste.

Also the implementation rules and regulation are really important in business industry, by abusing our
resources for their own means. The government indicates the responsible use of our resources to earn
income which is really needed to be strict. As a student concern in this matter, the rules are not enough
to protecting our environment we should files cases against the corporation who all really messed our
mountains, oceans and forest.

Take note that we have only one planet to live freely and happy please remain it beauty and health.

Why I should follows the rules in our community?

Article 7 Section 49 in RA 9003 indicates the penalties and fine by committing civil liability or doing
unlawful acts to our environment. For me, if you really have a concern you concern to our nature you
really know what your responsibility as human.

And lastly are the incentives you can get in helping and maintaining the beauty of our nature.

You can not only have a fresh air to live but you can less your tax in helping our environment.
In article 7 section 45 paragraph 1 A says, “ Tax and Duty Exemption on Imported Capital Equipment and
Vehicles - Within ten (10) years upon effectively of this Act, LGUs, enterprises or private entities shall
enjoy tax and duty free importation of machinery, equipment, vehicles and spare parts used for
collection, transportation, segregation, recycling, re-use and composing of solid wastes: Provided, That
the importation of such machinery, equipment, vehicle and spare parts shall comply with the following
conditions”
