Research is sought to be carried Communication Engineering
2 Major Area of Research
FPGA
3 Minor Area of Research
Wireless Capsule Endoscopic

2.0 Abstract

 Capsule control: Efficient optimization model- a novel approach by making SPSRAM to function like a
DPSRAM. It supports most of the access schemes for Image processing algorithms and also when the
readout changes the memories need not to be redesigned.
 For LED’s- Enhanced Pulse width modulation - Enhanced PWM (EPWM) function is similar to the
standard PWM but with many added features. The EPWM is available on devices with the ECCP
peripheral. The enhanced PWM mode generates a Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signal on up to four
different output pins with up to 10 bits of resolution
 Compression - The technique uses the blocks of optimal size to prevent data lose with lower increment in
computation. IntDCT is used to get frequency information and to perform quantization. Modified
Golomb-Rice code are used for further encoding the coefficients of the data.

4.4 Findings of the survey undertaken

A detailed report on comparative studies undertaken; directions of the future

research etc. must be mentioned

4.4.1 Scope of the Research defined

 Capsule control: Efficient optimization model- a novel approach by making
SPSRAM to function like a DPSRAM. It supports most of the access schemes
for Image processing algorithms and also when the readout changes the
memories need not to be redesigned.
 For LED’s- Enhanced Pulse width modulation - Enhanced PWM (EPWM)
function is similar to the standard PWM but with many added features. The
EPWM is available on devices with the ECCP peripheral. The enhanced PWM
mode generates a Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) signal on up to four

information and to perform quantization. Modified Golomb-Rice code are used
for further encoding the coefficients of the data

4.4.2 Objectives of the research defined

 To develop full-duplex communication between the capsule and the outside
smart-device without any distortion.
 To improve the architecture of electronic capsule with some enhanced image
compression and image processing algorithms by employing flexible
reprogramming in FPGA
 To enhance the memory access in FPGA by including efficient optimization
model inside the architecture for better power utilization.
 To increase the overall storage size, battery life of capsule, low power
consumption, better compression ratio.

4.4.3 Detailed description of the Research problem

 The most common problem with previous technology is the variation of the
coupling efficiency that occurs when the transmitting and receiving coils
become misaligned due to the complex curvatures of the human GI tract.
 limited data transfer capability-there is supposed to be no limit to the image
compression method, in order to transmit the high resolution image, the
transmitter supporting the high data rate is needed.
 effect on the selection order of the electrode pair is not considered in the
electrode selection section of the architecture to reduce the complexity.
