La Planchada

This is a real story told by a woman who lived in Mexico.

La Plachada is a name used to refer to a nurse that worked in a hospital

around central Mexico.

The story relates to a nurse called Eulalia who was always wearing on her
duty a perfect-ironed uniform.

Apparently Eulalia fell in love with a doctor at the hospital and they became
engaged.

Everything seemed to be perfect until the doctor left the hospital to go to a

regular medical seminar held in another city.

The doctor failed to return from the seminar.

Eulalia discovered that he had met and married another woman.

Eulalia went sick and started to abandon both herself and her work.

Eulalia died.

After her death, people started to see a ghostly apparition in the hospital.

They believed that the nurse was doomed to care for patients for eternity.
