After several attempts and stalemates, I checkmated my opponent with only a knight
and bishop (+two kings) on the board! I'm a very low rated player, but I think it's
a great exercise to learn the B+K checkmate, it gives you more confidence in the
endgames, too.

New player - awful endgame. What are the best resources?
Started playing as a way to take a quick break during the workdays. Started
becoming more interested in the game but I'm quite new and very, very bad (680-
ish). I play 3 minute games due to time constraints and I'm noticing that about 60%
of my losses are from games where I'm quite far ahead in materials, but I have no
idea how to close out. I think looking at some resources to improve my end game
would go a long way towards getting me to me goal of 1000 by mid year. What would
you recommend in terms of videos, books or articles?

Capablanca's book Chess Fundamentals.
You can find it in PDF, but the very old editions are in Descriptive notation, not
the Algebraic that everyone plays.
Also, play slower games ... 3+0 is problematic for actually learning :)

I've had this endgame twice in the last week. Is this winning or drawn? My guess is
that it's a draw with perfect play, but how should it be played to maximize winning
chances for the side with the extra pawn?imgur.com/a/pUIk...

After several attempts and stalemates, I checkmated my opponent with only a knight
and bishop (+two kings) on the board! I'm a very low rated player, but I think it's
a great exercise to learn the B+K checkmate, it gives you more confidence in the
endgames, too.

Can someone explain me why Nxe3 is an inaccuracy please (engine says Qxg2+ is
better)? When I calculated Nxf3 in game I managed to see the R vs R+B endgame,
while Qxg2 leads to a R+B vs R+B pair according to engine... I played Nxf3... What

Books. Buy Silman's Endgame Course and start at the beginning and do as much of it
as you can until you're utterly confused. Endgames take PRACTICE more than a lot of
other parts of chess.

Capablanca's book Chess Fundamentals.
You can find it in PDF, but the very old editions are in Descriptive notation, not
the Algebraic that everyone plays.
Also, play slower games ... 3+0 is problematic for actually learning :)

What

As a 2000 FIDE player I know that bishops are theoretically stronger than knights
in endgames, especially with pawns on both sides of the board. So why do I lose

I've had this endgame twice in the last week. Is this winning or drawn? My guess is
that it's a draw with perfect play, but how should it be played to maximize winning

I am sorry if there is a list and I just didn‘t find it but ... which books would
you recommend? I have to learn opening, middle- and endgame so that shouldn‘t be a
criterium. Thanks in advance

What
am I missing?i.redd.it/ncoii1...
