Feelings and emotions

Emotions are your reactions to what you feel on the inside when things happen. They are
also known as feelings and people referred to them using the words as synonyms.
But there is a slight difference between them: feelings may be personal and internal.
Emotions may be the external expressions that other persons see in you. Usually, your
feelings are different to the emotions that people recognize in you.
For instance, y may be very angry, but people may believe that you are worried o tired or
sad.
The following are some explanations of feelings:

 Afraid: feeling fear and worry

 Angry: feeling mad with a person, act, or idea

 Ashamed: feeling bad after doing wrong

 Confident: feeling able to do something

 Confused: feeling unable to think clear

 Depressed: feeling sad, blue, discouraged, and unhappy

 Embarrassed: feeling worried about what others may think

 Energetic: feeling full of energy

 Excited: feeling happy and aroused

 Glad: feeling joy and pleasure

 Jealous: feeling upset when someone has something that you would like to have or
they get to do something you wanted

 Lonely: feeling alone and that nobody cares

 Proud: feeling pleased for doing well

 Relaxed: feeling at ease and without worry, calm

 Stressed: feeling tense, tired, uneasy, and overwhelmed


Activity 1
There are many more feelings and emotions: thrilled, amazed, shocked, astonished,
astounded, intimidated, annoyed, perturbed, enchanted, bored, entertained, stunned,
depressed, enraged. Search information about them and draw an image, take a picture or
find a video that exemplify them
Activity 2
Remember a situation when you felt these emotions and write a thirty words description.
A movie you saw, a travel on a former vacation, a familiar activity, an anecdote with your
friends or any other personal situation may be useful. The definitions previously provided
will be helpful. Take into consideration the following questions: What was happening?
What were you doing when you felt the emotion? How did you react? Why?
