How to learn the Kuwaiti

Spoken Arabic language

Everyone goes to school to learn English, Math, Science, Algebra

school, how to speak Arabic. And this is how I did it.
1. Went to work in Kuwait - an Arabic speaking country. I even had no idea what
language they speak, what they eat and what work I am getting myself into.

2. I was given a job as a Nanny to two lovely boys. But there was a problem, the
language barrier I don't understand any words they are saying. But to be fair my
Ex-Employers -lovely couple knows how to speak English.

3. I ask my ex- employer to give me notebook. In this notebook, I wrote down

anything the kids say to me, then I ask the parents for the meanings. I note every
phrase or sentences that I hear from anyone like my Ex-Employers parents, sister
and friends and specially the kids. Then my Lady employer explains them all to
me.

4. Three months passed and I was speaking the Arabic language already. I was
pleased with myself. Although I can't write in Arabic, I am now able to
communicate with the kids and everyone in the family and to anyone really. It was

There are many more but these are just a few words and phrases that I learnt on
my first month in Kuwait. To sum it up, learning another language is easy when
you live in a country that speaks another language. That is how I learnt how to
speak spoken Arabic. It came in very handy for me being a nanny at the time
because I can then communicate with the kids without asking their parents all the
time what they want.

Learning another Language has lots of benefits

My sister works in Israel and she has learnt the Hebrew spoken language as well.
My sister communicates well with her Employer in the Hebrew language as she
doesn't speak English. So it shows that wherever we go in the different parts of
the world another language can be learnt if we are interested to learn something
new. It will come in useful in communicating with people in that country where you
work. I find it very useful having a second language like English because
anywhere you go in the world it connects you with other people.
