HEMPEL'S TRAFFIC & AIRFIELD MARKING PAINT 56880


(FEDERAL STANDARD TT-P-85E)

Description: HEMPEL'S TRAFFIC AND AIRFIELD MARKING PAINT 56880 is a colour stable, styrenated
alkyd based coating which is especially suited for asphalt and concrete. It dries quickly
and causes no bleeding. It forms a tough film, resistant to wear and impact, water,
petrol (gasoline), mineral oils etc.

Recommendation: As a marking paint on cement, concrete, bituminous pavement, tiles, etc., and
previously painted areas of this type. Can be used with or without glass beads.

Safety: As a general rule, inhalation of solvent vapours or paint mist, and contact of liquid paint
with skin and eyes should be avoided. Forced ventilation should be provided when
working with solvent-borne materials in confined spaces or stagnant air. Even when
ventilation is provided, respiratory, skin, and eye protection are always recommended
when spraying paint.

Surface Asphalt should be fully cured and properly compressed. Salt, dust, dirt and other contamination
Preparation: should be removed from surfaces to be painted.

Application As dictated by normal, good painting practice.


Conditions:

Preceding Coat: None.

Subsequent Coat: None.

Remarks: For light reflection, add glass beads (Hempel's Traffic Glass Beads 97770). Consumption up to 12
kg/26 lbs of glass beads per 20 litres/5 US gallons of paint.

The beads should be sprinkled into the wet paint surface of the traffic line by the "drop-on" method
which will give immediate and continuing reflection.

If the asphalt is not fully cured and compressed properly, there will be the risk of cracking and
lifting of the edges of the paint lines.

HEMPEL'S TRAFFIC AND AIRFIELD MARKING PAINT 56880 should preferably be sprayed without
thinning to achieve the best possible results.
