Learning Insight: Political Self

Government is the first thing that comes in our mind when we hear the word
“political”. Political self should be developed in ourselves because it enclosed our rights,
freedom, and our obligation as a citizen.
Filipinos have the best values and traits among others which we had adopted
from our ancestors. If we have good values and traits then we also have bad traits
which we should avoid because it can destroy our image as a whole. “A good citizen
makes a good state, a bad citizen make a bad state”, by Aristotle.
Philippines is a democratic state which people have given a chance to enjoy the
rights and privileges such as natural, constitutional, statutory, civil, economic and
political rights. These rights are made to balance our life and determine what is right or
wrong. Many of us do not know the essence of these rights and tends to abuse these.
When these rights have been violated, it has also corresponding punishment based on
what we’ve done.
If we don’t have all this rights, for sure people would take advantage on the
weaknesses of others. We should be aware on the rights we have. Everyone is not
excuse for the ignorance of the law. Laws and rights protect us.

Learning Insight: Emotional Self

Emotion is a natural instinctive state of mind deriving from one’s circumstances,

mood, or relationship to others. There are six basic emotions classified as anger,
disgust, fear, happiness, sadness, and surprise that people usually feel.
Our emotions communicate because in our simple expression or the way we
look-like it expresses what we feel. There this Borderline Personality Disorder which our
emotional expression do not match the inside feelings. It also organizes and motivates
actions because in every emotion that we feel, there is a specific action/response that
we do to overcome it. Lastly, it is self-validating; it can give us information about a
situation.
The simple tips that I usually do to manage my emotions are these: (1) Control
whatever aspect of the stress that you can, I think logically what’s going to happen/
what will be the result of the things that I will do. (2) Don’t make mountains out of a
molehill, I always assess things before I react because emotions can lead us to do
wrong things and decide right away so “think before you click”. (3) And lastly, I meditate
and relax to have a good vibes and refresh my mind and soul so that I can face another
problem that will come my way.

Learning Insight: Digital Self

The new generations live with everything that comes so easily. Social media and
gadgets are known worldwide that even little children have it and know how to use it just
like adults and oldies. Its main purpose is to fasten our communication to our loved
ones and can also use for educational purposes but sometimes we overuse it that we
don’t notice, we are using it in a bad way.
Most of us have a social media account in which it contains our personal
information, our opinions about something or someone, and the updates about our
everyday living and many more. But the thing is, should we post all what we want
people know about us? For me, it’s a no, we should be careful on what we post online,
some personal information should not be publicized to prevent danger. In posting, we
should choose the right words that we put because words are powerful, it can hurt
someone’s feelings especially those who are sensitive.
Cyber-bullying is the known crime; it is a bullying that takes place over digital
devices like cell phones, computers and tablets. We meet new friends through social
media but be alert because we don’t know them well and their intention on us so don’t
share private information so that they can’t use it against us.
Millennial should know their limitation in using social media and gadgets. Be
responsible enough on actions that we take so that we can live a peaceful life.

Learning Insight: Me and My Future Goals

Each of us has a dream and goal in life. It’s free and has no limitation. Ever since
we were little, we dream high like the impossible can be possible. As we grow older, we
realize that everything is possible as long as we believe that we can make it.
On setting our goals, we should identify and see how possible that goal is, but
everything is possible as long as we do our best and it is His will. Goals give us
motivation to reach our dreams and overcome challenges that makes us more
determined and stronger individual to achieve it. We should take serious action and
focus if we are eager to see progress each day of our life. Hindrances and challenges
are always there, we can’t prevent it. It may arise anytime, anywhere. But that shouldn’t
stop us make us give up; all we need is to stand up again and face it with all our heart.
Don’t let it ruin you and make you feel weak. You are the only person that can
motivate yourself more, you only need self-confidence. Just trust in yourself and
continue to live your life fighting for your dreams and goals.
