Time Management is an invaluable skill in today’s time. An effective time


management includes efficient planning, prioritising and setting goals. Being
overwhelmed by work usually creates a sense of powerlessness amongst
employees. The principles of time management education help to reduce this
feeling amongst employees and pave way for them to take control over their
lives. This helps participants to be able to accomplish more at work within the
same working hours.

Trainer Goals
 Create hands-on activities and innovative concepts to educate about
time management
 Teaching participants how to be better at controlling their time and
their life in general
 Teaching participants to set achievable work-related and life goals
 Teaching how to more efficiently and effectively control their time
 Stressing on the importance of prioritizing, planning, dealing and
controlling time bandits, setting boundaries and managing stress

Learner’s Objectives

Participants will be able to:

 Recognize individual strengths and weaknesses in how they manage


their time through introspection.
 Better organize themselves for better efficiency.
 Take control of their time and work habits.
 Set goals and learn detailed planning steps.
 Identify time loss sources, set priorities, and handle time related stress.
 Learn and practice the proper steps of delegation.

Introduce the course to the participants along with it’s importance in
daily life – professional as well as personal.

 Objectives
Give a brief about the objectives laid out for the course and how you
aim to accomplish them

 Expectations
Engage the participants in an open discussion about their expectations
from the course. Learn about the psychology of the participants and
what they expect to gain from the course.

Purpose
• To highlight the significance of time management.
• To introduce the key aspects of effective time management.

Conducting the activity


Step 1: Introduce the activity and share the learning goals of this activity
Step 2: Ask the participants to introspect on their daily schedules and fill the

Step 3: Analyses of the amount of time spent by participants on each type of
activity

 Procrastination

 Introducing the participants about the concept of Procrastination


 Explain the concept and impact of “Vicious Circle of
Procrastination” and take the participants thoroughly through
each stage of the circle
 Communicate to the participants the art of turning
“Procrastination into Action”
 Explain the participants on how they can practically reduce
procrastination by giving tips on the same

 Develop SMART Goals


 Explain the concept of SMART Goals and how to stimulate clear
and mutual understanding of what leads to expected levels of
performance and successful professional development
 Communicate the importance of setting results you wish to work
on and accomplish

 Planning Pyramid
 The trainer must provide guidance on how to plan, prepare for
and deliver actions with the concept of “Planning Pyramid”
 Time Management Quadrant
 The trainer is required to explain the concept of Time
Management Quadrant in order to instil the principle of prioritizing
tasks on the basis if their urgency and importance
 By the end of the session participants must be able to segregate
tasks on the basis of their urgency and importance and prioritize
accordingly.

Create an interruption log
Purpose
• To indicate the time lost due to distractions and interruptions while at work
 Analysing the interruptions and their cause
