Syalom,

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen, my fellow friends and honorable judges.
Before we go further, we should give thanks to God cause only by His grace we
can gather here. In this wonderful moment I would like to take this opportunity to
deliver my speech about Teens for Christ, but first let me introduce myself, my
name is Evanggelion Bawonte, I am 11 years old and I am from Imanuel Bahu The
Evangelical Church in Minahasa.

What is your thought when you hear the words Teens for Christ? Whether
we must be like Mother Theresa which helped, saved other people in fact inspired
herself to help others, or we must be like Riedel & Schwarz which tells the
commandment witness of God and be servant of God? But, how about the teens
who obey God, do what He wants, rely on God, keep their saying and behave
well? Compare to Mother Theresa, Riedel & Schwarz, are not they who trade to
God, keep their saying and behavior good, are they Teens for Christ? Actually,
what Mother Theresa, Riedel & Schwarz did is very extraordinary. We as teenager
have to follow and reflect the idea of Teens for Christ properly, same as teenagers
who did good things in their actions and saying, also reflect the idea of Teens for
Christ, but they use the different custom.

The question is how could we as Christian Teenager reflect Teens For

Christ? I believe we can do it by swim deep within yourself. Confused already?
Swim deep within yourself which I said earlier stands for start with ideal manner
deep within yourself. Whether how you behave at school, public place especially
when we are home with family. The first possible place where we can start to
learn how to do the ideal manner is from our home with family. For example
honor our parents. Maybe it is accustomed to hear, but we did not realize we
often underestimate that. As an example when your parents give you something
you need. Instead of being thankful for it we tend to be angry and ask for more.
Does not it show that we did not value our parents? How can we do something
bigger when we ignore one crucial thing? As it is said on Luke 16 : 10 “He that is
faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the
least is unjust also in much.” Based on that Bible verse, as a Christian teenager we
have to learn to rely on God and to have responsibility.

First rely on God. Rely on God does not mean that we deliver it all up to
God and do nothing about it. Rely on God means we simply do our best and let
God do the rest. And last but not least, after we already could honor our parents
and rely on God, we have to be responsible with all things by our saying, action
and our thought. Do you remember the parable of the talent? Which one do you
prefer? Are you most likely be the servant who got one talent and did not develop
that talent then just buried under the ground until the Master came back, or do
you prefer the servant who got five and two talent then take responsibility to
develop that talent multiple times than before? Change your mindset that makes
you think cause we are young we cannot do something amazing for God! As we
can see on 1 Timothy 4 : 12 said “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an
example of believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in
purity.”

Now we already know how to be "Teens for Christ". Furthermore after we

must know the way to maintain it. Colossians 3:10 said : "And have put the new
man, which is renewed in knowledge after him that created him:" Based on that
bible verse we can learn that if we want to maintain the "Teens for Chris"
characters we must willing to leave our old life whose full of sins and renewed by
the holy spirit. So we could have new life in Christ.

In my conclusion, to be the Teens for Christ we can start by learning to take

responsibility, rely on God and honor our parents. and we must maintain it with
renewed by the holy spirit. If we can do all of them, I believe we could be Teens
for Christ. As Zig Zagler once said, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you
have to start to be great.”

That’s all for my speech. Thank you for the attention. God bless us all.
